It's 10%, and it's that way because if your are heterozygous (have one sickle and one normal gene), malaria won't kill you. Obviously this would be very helpful in pre historic Africa. Hell, even today.

Like 95% of the time I never check/call the river and when I do it is explicity with the intent to check/fold or check/call to snap off a bet
