Witnessed a ridiculous hand last night:


Pro - UTG+1 (3.5k): very solid TAG, plays 5/10-10/20 live and 5/10+ online HU for a living.
Villain/Fish - Straddle (covers): older rich tourney player. has no concept of playing >30BB deep.

5/10 NLHE (STRADDLE 20)
Pre (35):
- Pro raises 80, bunch of folds, Fish calls from Straddle

Flop (175): J83
- Fish check, Pro bet 140, Fish call

Turn (455): 2
- Fish check, Pro bet 360, Fish call

River (1175): 3
- Fish BET 500, Pro RAISE 1200, Fish ???????

obv, the "pro" wasn't repping much and pretty much knew the fish had nothing... but still, the fish/station BET/CALLED ACE HIGH?!?!?

Part2:

My hand against the same fish:
- fish limps, I raise 66 OTB to 50, and two fish limp/call.
- flop: AAJ... check to me and I check back
- turn:2... check, same fish bet 40, I raise 220, other dude fold, fish calls
- river: K... fish check, and i take the showdown.

Fish has Q2o (LMAO @ bet/CALLING turn)

Got my official notice yesterday that I will be moving on. Going to put poker on the back burner for a couple weeks (except for league game) and study as much as I can. Buying a suit this weekend for my interview. Mpethy has seen me before, I probably dont look like the suit wearing type. If I land this job probably going to take a week or so before it starts and head out to either Vegas (mpethy and jm3 hu4modz), LA (PB hu4rollz), or nor cal (stampler hu4food). It always ends up being LV.

You got let go from your job? I am sorry to hear that. I got fired when I lived in Kansas, best thing that ever happened to me.

You missed the first part of this..

I am still working, but I am going through a hiring process for a career that I have been wanting to get in. I scored high on the initial test and got ranked pretty well. I got a notice that I will be moving on in the process.
