Sitting at a 1/2 table tonight that was short handed, 6 of us, everybody had a clue, but nobody fearsome. We had a Vietnamese guy from Canada who was doing an OK job of hyper lagging it up, and a black guy from NY who looked like an older version of the president who was doing a pretty good job of gambooling with the hyper lag.
So we play a few orbits of 6 max, and then a euro-guy gets seated at our table and buys in for $140. He's at the table for an orbit before he gets involved in a pot, but in that orbit either the Vietnamese guy or Obama pops it to $12. The euro guy is UTG and raises to $6, gets a caller, and the Vietnamese guy 3 bets him to $25. Euro dude folds, caller folds, and the Euro dude racks up and leaves.
Too-aggro young ex-internet kid next to me looks over at the Vietnamese guy and says, "dude, you're scaring the fish." I'm not sure the Vietnamese guy understood, but the rest of us got a bit of a chuckle out of it and went back to playing short handed.
The internet kid and another player at the table are busting on the fish for racking up after playing one hand, and the dealer says, "yeah, you'd think he never got 3 bet before." I said, "give him credit for a good decision--he can't be too fishy to have the sense to leave this table."

When I get out there (possibly in March) IMA have to show you one of those good tables I always talk about. Mrs. Mpethy allows you stay up past 10 pm, right?

Re: ***Official "It Lives, It Lives" Chat Thread***
Played with a guy the past two sessions who is putting me on life tilt. I cannot decide if he is socially inept, on a very strong controlled substance, or both. I have been around some very annoying creatures at the poker table, but for some reason, this one sends me over the edge. I don't mind the hoodie/iPod types if they just sit there. However, when they can't follow the action, and then try ask questions/hold a conversation while still listening to their music, they make me want to stab myself.
On the plus side, he is a mega-fish. Talks about being a "winning player" online, but there is no way that is possible above 2NL stakes.
On the downside, I can't get the little bastage to spew off against me in a pot. I have now resorted to just 3betting him light over and over and over as he seems to think I am a nit who always has the goods. (Which is why I cannot see him as a winner online - he has zero adjustment in his game against different players.)
He did give me a good LOL moment Saturday night. First hand (1/3 in an underground game, 7 handed) he is on the button with a $120 stack, 2-3 limpers in front. He makes it $18 to go, SB folds, and BB ($650 stack - can be a decent player until his mind is taken over by his spewtard tendencies) ships all in for $650 (lol - whut?). Folds to button. He gives a speech. Shows an A and folds. BB smirks and tells him he will shove all in anytime a button raises his BB.
Next orbit. Limps to weirdo on the button. He opens to $18 (has a stack of $100). SB folds. BB insta-shoves for $650+. Folds to weirdo. He SNAP calls and quickly shows K-9o. BB shows AKo. No help for the youngster, and he has to rebuy. Poor kid looked like someone kicked his puppy.
BB runs over the table for a while, gets up to $1100, and then like always sets the money on fire and busts a couple of hours later. Weirdo kid becomes fascinated by the guy's play, and after he leaves, talks about how much he wants to play like him.
Oh dear.
Kid shows up last night, and buys in for $100, and starts shipping anytime someone else opens. He ends up quickly on his 4th rebuy, and is whining about people giving his raises no respect. Finally a somewhat tight player raises, kid insta-ships, and gets called by 88. Flop is Q-9-5 and kid proudly shows...9-5o. Hits 3-5o for two pair in a 3bet pot and doubles up again. Calls a 4-bet shove with AQo and wins another $350. (Proudly announces that as the "best call of the night - maybe ever in this game" as he pulls the pot.)
So, we have a young guy with a $900+ stack ($500) profit who thinks he is running over a table of fish.
Anyone care to guess how that ends?

Can anyone recommend a good money safe to keep at home? Preferably one that bolts into ground or wall.

Re: ***Official "It Lives, It Lives" Chat Thread***
had the most surreal experience in a 8/16 Omaha 8 game with the most miserable creatures on earth yesterday, here in Vegas.
got stuck 3 racks ($600) due to run-bad, (they sucked, btw)
and refused to lose to them; It woulda just hurt too bad. so I stayed until 6 AM (until i got unstuck + a little *profit*) to leave. *victory*
I was driving them up the wall, simply by being upbeat and happy,
it was like sprinkling holy water on a vampire,
cuz it made thier misery even more glaring.
I bluffed one of them w/ a pair of deuces, and showed, and he went on monkey tilt because tourists arent supposed to do that. (outplay locals, lol)
wonder if this was the same wrecking crew that killed the O8 game at the Mirage years ago by just being mean spirited, and nasty to the core.
I could tell you stories from the Mirage.
two words that Vegas local grinders don't understand at all!:

Re: ***Official "It Lives, It Lives" Chat Thread***
Lol pretty sick hand last night.
Eff stacks 100bb.
Lady(new to table) in ep raises to 10
I call mp with 6 7
Tight old man otb raises to 20 lady calls, I call.
Flop is A 4 5
lady checks, I check, old man bets 10 lady calls, i raise to 50.
Old man calls, lady raises to 100, I ship, old man tanks at least 5 mins and calls.
turn is J
River is 8
We all table our hand
Lady flips over her cards 3 2 and yells "I FLOPPED A STRAIGHT" then laughs and starts to scoop her chips back thinking she won the pot.
I said "I have the nuts". She says "WHAT THE FUUUUU" and storms off the table (still yelling)"I THOUGHT YOU JUST HAD A F***ING FLUSH DRAW".
Old man tabled A A "I was so close to folding, just couldn't let it go"
Some how I managed to get it in as a favorite against a set of aces and a straight hahaha.

Hand was played terrible tbh. Call pre is meh/second time just bad "its a minraise, lol". Lol at old man tanking with aces and the nut blocker.
Your lucky dude my draw would have failed. Your not a favorite vs aces with that draw.

Not against aces alone. Go run the math against both hands and you will see he is a slight favorite. Strangely enough, the lady who flopped the nuts is only going to win the pot about 1/4 of the time against those two hands combined.

Re: ***Official "It Lives, It Lives" Chat Thread***
I'm calling in that spot 100% of the time. Considering anytime I hit I get a stack.
Saying I should fold to the minraise is ridiculous. Calling 10 into 53.
And yes I am a favorite in that spot. Albeit a small favorite.
I agree on being lucky haha. I actually had 3 straight + flush draws miss in the same session before I hit that one.
