i think i can top you ... friday night in pa.
my table breaks and i'm down about $70. get one good hand with AQ against 4 callers, flop an A take it down and only down about $20. get whittled down missing flops left and right. no bi deal, it happens.
anyway, the table is just crazy. it' $1/$2 and there's a straddle.
old guy limps in LP and everyone follows. straddler makes it $45. old guy makes it $145. should end the hand, right? not a chance. straddler calls with $111 behind. flop is QTx rainbow and he checks. Old guy shoves and he gets snap called. I figure it is AA vs. KK or a set. Nope. It's old guy's KK vs. Q6o. Turn is a 6 and the donkey gets rewarded.
later, guy makes it $10 with AA and gets called by the small blind and one other. flop is 455 and AA bets $35. sb calls... turn is a 3. he had A2o at which point i had to remark that i needed how to learn to play better poker so i can hit hands like that. (I of course had folded 45o from UTG+1 but that's another story).
same guy who called that out of the SB later picked up the mighty 10Jo UTG and made it $15. BB made it $45 and he called and turned the nuts in what could have been a $1,000 pot if BB hadn't folded his AA.
of course, BB had been going crazy all night; he called $115 pre out of a guy's eff. $200ish with 55 and shipped all-in on an AT6 board and got KK to fold (KK had no diamonds; board was all diamonds).
he later made it $100 pre over a bunch of limpers with 55, got one caller. flop was 642 and he shipped $304 and got called. he's gotta be behind right? nope. he got called by AJo. again, i can't keep my mouth shut and mutter something and guy was like, 'what? i think that's a call i have to make.'
a) i fold pre for $100. he can show me 72o after i fold and i still feel OK with it.
b) all you've got is two overs after the flop and no backdoor flush draw. you are seriously going to put $304 in the pot potentially drawing dead? i mean, you're probably not ever drawing dead as i doubt you are up against a strangely played AA more than 1 percent of the time, maybe slightly more who knows? but talk about money burning a whole in your pocket.
of course, i never get a hand at this table until i limp AKo and ship it allin preflop after a raise and a caller. next hand i get KQ suited, plan for a similar action from UTG only it gets no raises. flop KQ7. bet big. get 4 callers. ship the turn 5. get called by K5 ... EZ game when you actually get cards at a table like this.
