Re: ***Official "It Lives, It Lives" Chat Thread***
Finished up my Tunica trip sooner than expected. Woke up this morning at 5:30am with what I initially thought were chest pains - eh, just heartburn from eating spicy wings at 1am.
Eventually made it back to bed, but wasn't well rested. Played at the Gold Strike this afternoon and finished up $300 in about 4 hours. Took a nice break, came back and booked $100 in 2 hours and called it a night. I don't think I was playing particularly well in the second session, so figured it was best to book the win and get a good night's sleep. I think I played decent for being card dead for incredibly long stretches. I would like to have played a few hands differently because I think I missed some value here and there, but probably an improvement overall from the last time I played.

Re: ***Official "It Lives, It Lives" Chat Thread***
yo guys i am mainly a hu online player but i vertured into my local casino bcos i had put a ban on my account to force myself to study (that clearly worked well)
anyway i got into an argument with this guy regarding an underraise and i was sure i was in the right. so what is correct in this situation?
i am utg and fold. utg+1 raises to £24 MP raises all in for £38 BUTTON calls £38 BB calls £38
is the UTG+1 player forced to call here or can he raise?
cheers guys going to go to bed but id like to clear this up bcos i like when i am right and if im wrong well **** it

unless this is a £5/£10 game the UTG+1 player can only call

Totally depends on house rules. Most places default to Robert's rules.

If Player C goes all in for less than $300 total (not a full $100 raise), and Player A calls, then Player B has no option to raise again, because he wasn’t fully raised. (Player A could have raised, because Player B raised.)

He's forced to call only in NL. In limit, it would be over 50% and could re-raise.

An all-in wager of a half a bet or more is treated as a full bet, and a player may fold, call, or make a full raise. (An example of a full raise on a $20 betting round is raising a $15 all-in bet to $35.) Multiple all-in wagers, each of an amount too small to individually qualify as a raise, still act as a raise and reopen the betting if the resulting wager size to a player qualifies as a raise.

Hence the confusion.

The weekend action is pretty good for $1/2. I am now (theoretically) rolled for $2/5, but the games I have railed have regs that buy in very, very deep. I have decided to run up my bankroll a good bit more before taking some shots.

Probably a ~700BB pot at £1/2 where I 4bet QQ pre on the BTN vs the blinds and got it in on a Ten high flop. SB had called both the initial raise and the 4bet w 56o and flopped bottom two, BB had KK. I probably shouldn't have jammed the flop , but SB scoops the main ~600BB pot.
Best live session? (semi-brag-ish I guess): I've had +1000BB nights at both £1/1 and £1/2, yay.

Anyone else going to be in Vegas to play cash 1/2 - 2/5 during the world series? Have never played at the Rio during the event. I hear they rake pre 10% up to 5. Bleh. Are the games that good there that it is still worth it or are the $4 total, no flop no drop bellagio/wynn/venetian a better bet for soft smaller games?
About to start a 48ish hr live session in Blackhawk, CO.

Re: ***Official "It Lives, It Lives" Chat Thread***
The lodge used to rake the 2/5 and 10/20+ limit games at 5% instead of 10, but they were raking 6/2 at the time and lost all of their customers to the Ameristar. Now, neither room is a ghost town with the Ameristar having the bigger SL games and the Lodge having the bigger limit games and both rake 5+2 w/ only bbj drop pre.
Unless you were talking about just getting back from vegas, not blackhawk, then I have no idea what they are raking at the Rio, but 7+0 is criminal. I don't play Ceasars b/c they rake 5+1, and there are so many other good rooms that rake 4+0.
I have no problem with a drop for a bbj though. When the bad beat was 640k here in CO, I made a ton b/c everyone was playing ridiculously trying to hit it. If they flopped a set, they wouldn't bet it so that a straight flush could get there ect... There is no rake on bbj, and it gives fish something to be hopeful about and increases variance. The more variance there is in a game, the more fish with stick around b/c they feel they have a chance of winning.

IME vote with your rake... lots and lots of games running during the series. Between the high rake, poor security and poor staff its only worth it for a truly great game.

Sadly enough 10% rake of 5+0 sounds like a good deal after Casino Az's 20% rake up to 4+2.
I asked in LVLS too, is anyone scouting out the WSOP cash games?

Crikey, you guys have it good. It's 4+2 in Northern California if we make it to a flop. No flop it's still 1+1.

You need to move east. At Mohegan Sun, it is 4+1 and no flop, no drop.
