Ok, before I get blasted for straddling UTG (only position you can straddle in my casino), I'd made a decision to play until my button hence I gambled with the straddle (yes, yes I shouldn't let my last few hands affect how I play!).

Anyway, it's 1/1, 9 handed

Hero UTG, £80, TAG image, not played too many hands
V1 UTG+1 Old Asian Nit 120
V2 MP Old Asian Nit Mark 2 200
V3 MP + 1, TAG Young Euro type 180
V4 CO young guy, quite aggressive 140
V5 Button Loose Asian guy 120
V6 BB Young guy, not very good, quite loose, has a few moves though

All the villains in question call until it gets to V6 in the BB. He raises to 13. I look down and see AQo. I'm thinking, hello, is the big blind trying to squeeze?

What does Hero do in this spot??

Raise to $35, call it off.

BB could be squeezing but he could be going for value and still have a worse hand. Make it $30/$35 and call unless there is more then one shove/call shove. I would say go more because your raise isn't big relative to the pot/raise but your stack is short enough it doesn't matter.

not a good description of PFR. basically if you think you are ahead of his raising range, 3bet to $40 and get it in. i like this more than a shove because IMO loose players are more prone to calling this reraise rather than a shove when you have them crushed. if you aren't sure of his raising range, im assuming he has a big pair or AJ+ or AQ+ and just folding here. flatting pre is terrible

His PFR is 77+, k10+ in this situation... That's my read so far anyway.

I reraised him to 40, it folded round back to him, he shipped it and I called.

He tabled AK. Luckily I hit a Q, but obviously pretty disappointed as I clearly must have played it wrong... Should I have just folded? Then I again, considering his range maybe it was the right move long term

That's just how things go sometimes.
But you were getting the right price in the pot to call against his range, and sometimes you get there. Sometimes you don't.

I think the hand was played just fine.
