$1-$2 No limit

My assumptions:
Playing suited connectors in position against LAGs is profitable.
Playing suited connectors out of position against short stacked Tighties is not profitable.

Reads:
EP = LAG. Plays 90% of hands. Raises 60% of the time when first in. Will overplay TP postflop. Will call down with marginal made hands.
Button = Tight Passive. Plays 5% of hands. Limps with QQ, AK. Only seems to raise with AA, KK.

EP ($550) opens to $8
Hero ($550) has 98 in the CO and calls $8
Button ($65) raises to $23
EP calls to $23
Hero ??

If we know Button has a big pair, and we know he doesn't have much behind, then continuing in this hand is a bad idea.
But do the pot odds and EP's involvement change anything here?
Or is this an easy fold??

Please advise.

This is a snap fold, imo. Even if there is a side-pot, it will be a protected and the SPR will be very low, even this deep. OTF, the SPR is only 7.6-1, and with V2's stack and range we can pretty much assume he's always going AI, so really the SPR is effectively 2.5-1.

Even without the protected main issue, this is a snap fold.

Hand is a pretty easy fold. Want to address one thing though

Incorrect.

LAGs win by forcing folds. If you want to beat a LAG you have to get to showdown. You're starting with 9 high, so you need some awesome stuff to happen before the river if you want to turn your cards over and win.

If you make this adjustment, LAGs will own you.

You want hands that can realistically call down light. K6s is way way way better in this spot than 98s

Trivial fold to the reraise. 98s is a good hand to play against the LAG when you can see a cheap flop. Since you will be folding most flops with a hand like 98s you need to see it with a high SPR so you can make your money later in the hand. In fact, you are so deep that you could occasionally call the raise if you knew nobody else was getting involved or the raiser was deep also. The problem here is that the button is going to shove a lot of flops and keep you from drawing cheaply or suckering EP in when you do hit. Buttons stack is so short you can't make any money against it and that is who will end up playing in this sort of situation too often.

Fold to the reraise, I don't mind the call initially just make sure you have a plan postflop.

Assuming EP is a good LAG he knows the BU raise signals some kind of strength, and he isn't coming along with junk. You fold and look for a better spot.
