How many mistakes did I make in this hand?

First time poster here. Feel free to tear my game apart.

I had just sat down in a 1/2 NL live game in Vegas. I folded maybe 4 hands and during that time I saw several multiway, non-raised pots. Very loose passive play post-flop. On the 4th hand, the lone woman at the table, who seemed like a gambler, called a preflop $90 all-in bet with K7 soooted, and subsequently lost to KK.

The next hand I'm on the button with 85 spades. There are 3 limpers, so I limp on button, blinds check, so we go to flop 6 handed. Flop is AK8 with two clubs. Small blind bets $6, BB calls, all three limpers call, so I decide to take one off. Turn is 5. SB checks, and now the woman in the BB bets $25. Everyone folds to me. I'm not in love with my hand, but I don't think I can exactly just fold 2 pair here with no real straight draw out there or completed flush yet. I know I should raise, but I just call.

River is another 5 to give me 5s full, bottom full house, and she immediately shoves for $190.

Assuming any of you would get to the river the same way I did, what is the right move here??

Re: How many mistakes did I make in this hand?

When the woman suddenly bets $25 that is alarming, as if she has A5 (it seems the 5 improved her hand, unless she slow played the flop).

She shoves for $190 into a tiny pot. It seems like a trivial fold against most villains given that you only beat a bluff and the hand was played as if villain has A-5, 88, or 85. Certain villains (under 5%) may be going crazy with AK, A8, AQ here but that is super rare. I don't think you've played with this woman enough to know if she is that crazy/stupid....but we do know her range also includes K-5 making this an even tougher spot to call IMO.

BTW, because this woman is clearly prone to having a blowup or incorrectly playing her hand I would probably make my decision based on a live read. If she is exhibiting weakness via physical tells then I would call but that is the only way I would call. I would probably try to get her to talk as well.

The simplest approach is to avoid difficult spots by not playing hands that are difficult to withstand pressure when you are still developing as a player.

I am going to assume the woman is a passive player and such aggression from a passive player is almost always very very strong hands.

Not a difficult fold for bottom fullhouse.

pre-flop: fold because 85!
flop: fold because flop with A + multiway
turn: raise
river:all-in

it is just my opinion and i am not very good

Mistake #1: called preflop
Mistake #2: called flop

I don't mind calling the turn with bottom two pair. Raising is definitely not mandatory.

You say that the table has been loose-passive (standard for a 1/2 table) and then this woman shoves all-in on the river... so what do you think she has?

Kinda looks like k-5 or A-5 to me.

Easy call river against this woman.

She got allin w/K7 suited earlier preflop, I can never find a fold here.

Calling $90 with K-7 is different than shoving with it.

You're right. It's worse to call.

Re: How many mistakes did I make in this hand?

preflop is fine for a soft passive live game. You have position, you have implied odds on just about any hand, and 85s isnt so ridiculously bad that it's unplayable. On the flop, you're folding though. The only time I would ever call bottom pair would be if I were getting 20:1 or better, i.e. some fish leads out for $2 into a $20 pot and 9 people call.

Anyway I like to make mistakes first and then adjust after I have been proven wrong. The bitch just stacked off preflop with K7s, **** her. I snap call here and shrug my shoulders if I'm beat, and am not surprised if she just has AK or even worse.

Mistake #1 (limp on btn) fold or raise pre
Mistake #2 (call) fold

Call river. We made a boat with 85. A boat is a good hand.

Fold pre...or at least raise your button.

1/2 players love to limp with big hands.

My guess KK, you still have to call.

Re: How many mistakes did I make in this hand?

Folding pre sucks. Not a big fan of raising pre as they rate to call your open and you need to improve to win.
The most interesting part of the hand is the turn. I am torn personally.
I don't fold boats to people who don't know how to play, and her calling 90 all in with K7 gives her that title. Call river.
KK likely raises pre, no?

Re: How many mistakes did I make in this hand?

I'm assuming everyone saying to raise pre plays no higher than NL50 online, and doesnt play live at all. We should be playing as exploitative as possible live, and raising 85s pre serves no purpose. We get called 100% of the time, our cbets get called 80% of the time, and we can valuetown villains just as much if we hit the nuts whether we limp or raise.

Or worse, they just read their poker books and twiddle their thumbs working up the courage to sit down in the big 1/2 game, and then stick on their shades, put their hands over their mouth, and try to play as perfect as they think they can.
The rest of us are stacking rando's who don't know how to play with boats. Or getting massively coolered.
