Heads Up... When can you show your cards? Heads Up... When can you show your cards?

Hi Guys,
I have a "House Rule" question for the field. Who plays in a card room that permits you to expose your hand, heads up, while action is still taking place?

I play 2-5, 5-10 at Palm Beach Kennel Club, the Isles and Seminole Hard Rock and every room has different rules.

How does your card room interpret this action?

Thanks everyone.

My card room interprets you playing at the Seminole as no big deal.

Hey rbbloom, I'm guessing from the stakes you mention, you meant to post in a live NL forum. I'll move it there.

Most card rooms I play in allow you to show your cards whenever you want if you are heads up in a cash game. However, there are a few (I think the Wynn is still this way) that never allow you to show your cards -- or even talk about the hand -- even heads up.

the rooms I mostly play in does not allow a player to expose his hand when heads up with action pending. If he does, the player gets a warning and then the next time his hand will be killed.

do you have any strategical questions whether or not to expose your hand if your rules allow?

In my local card room, we are permitted to expose cards when heads-up in a cash game. It's like Alan in The Hangover says, it "isn't illegal. It's frowned upon. Like masturbating on an airplane".

Actually, this should have gone in Brick and Mortar (aka, Live Casino Poker). They are a rules and etiquette forum. We are a strategy forum.

That said, if you post there, you'll find that you already know the answer:
