Handrange Villain OTR ?

hey guys,

I just finished a session at the crown... I ve got a couple of hands that i am not to sure about...Would love your comment on it

Table: The table started out to be loose passive, a lot of limping, nobody really raised. a couple of players stacked of and the table got tighter...but still a lot of limping, but if players raised this time they had AJ or better.

Limped pot 6 way.

hero: BB (5j of)

F: 56J

SB: bets pot. ( He is fairly tight and i don't see him leading out into 5 people with nothing...)
BB:calls.
Fold to CO: who calls

T: Q

SB:check
Hero: Bet( 2/3)pot
CO: Minraises ( i don't now anything about him, he just sat down, a young player)

SB: fold
Hero: call

R: 5

Hero:check ( i misread my cards, i thought i had 6J)
Co:bets ( 1/2)pot

Hero???

On what kind of range do you put Villain??

thx for the advice

Re: Handrange Villain OTR ?

Again, try to include stack sizes next time. It really matters whether CO has 300 BBs or 40.

As you played it, assuming 100 BB stacks, I'm raising this flop most of the time. It's decently connected and there are a lot of cards we're not in love with on the turn (incidentally, the queen turned out to be one of them).

As played on the turn, again, stack sizes are so important here. But if it's 16 BBs to me, it's very close -- what's villain raising that we beat? Weirdly-played AQ? Weirdly-played AJ? 65 who waited for the turn? Min-raise usually screams "I have a strong hand" too. I think I lean toward a turn fold.

On the river, helpful to know how much is behind. Under my assumption that we started with 100 BBs, we don't have much left to shove here, and I'm not sure we're ahead, so I'm calling. I think his most likely hands are QJ and 66, one of which we beat, one of which we don't. Other less likely holdings are 56 (we beat), j6 (we beat), Q5 (we don't), 55 (we don't), Q6 (we do).

Re: Handrange Villain OTR ?

A set of 66 is the majority of his range...QJ also...although I think he raises more ott with QJ...
Regardless he "min-raised" u with dis-regards to the SB nit who potted the flop, and two other people left to act...
I know this sounds week but the turn is a fold...as played, call river but u r beat more than u would like
Range is basically QJ and 66 imo

Re: Handrange Villain OTR ?

def raising flop, gonna get value from jx and straight draws

ap, river is between a call and shove, only viable hand that beats you here is 66 and you will prob get looked up by qj qx type hands.. cant really make a decision without knowing stack sizes

your check otr widens his betting range to include bluffs / missed draws

def not folding turn, saying he could have qj and is ahead now is too narrow.. he could be min raising with qj as much as he could be with some diamond draw or even jt to "see where he is" or thinks the q is a scare card and may have FE with another draw

why would he wake up on this turn all of a sudden and "min" raise? We all know what min raise is!
Remember the guy over-called a PSB from a nit otf
