Hi,

First post so bare with me. Live Casino setting, playing 1/3 NLHE. Sitting with 200BBs.

Action folds to me on the button, and I open to $13 with 10d10c (standard open). SB and BB both call.

Flop - Qh Qs 4h
Action checks to me. I bet $25. SB calls, BB folds.

Turn - 9s
SB checks to me. I bet $45. SB calls.

Flop - 6d
SB leads into me $175. Around a pot size bet. I call. He shows KhQc.

Thoughts on the hand? Front and back door flushes miss. Maybe I check back turn for pot control? Insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

Pre-flop and flop are fine. I'm betting this flop 100% of the time. I like the turn bet too. Whether or not I decide to call the river bet depends on whether villain is capable of bluffing. As a general rule, most villains don't bluff very often but that has started to change the last couple of years, depending on where you are playing. If I think he has a bunch of bluffs in his range I would call but I'd have to have seen evidence of that prior to the hand. Absent any information whatsoever, I would tend towards a fold. Usually when you post a hand history, you provide physical descriptions and any player tendencies or relevant information about how the villain plays.

Remember to post pot sizes on every street. It makes it easier to see how much the bets are relative to the size of the pot.

And last, remember to post in the correct forum. This is live casino poker, but there is no strategy discussion. You want to post in the live low-stakes no-limit forum.

after he calls the turn you should plan on checking back otr but when he leads out for a psb, you need to let it go.

"Folds to the Button", what is this phrase you use? Ha, this rarely happens in my game. But I like the open, and for the "smallish" sizing.

Next time post pot size on each street so we can see what size of bet you are betting. Looks like you are betting $25 into about $39, and this is about what I'd bet as there is a flush draw we can get value from.

Any reads on Villain? The more straightforward ABC non-bluffy he is, the more I'd bet/fold the turn (charging worse hands/draws and easily folding to a raise because he's never raising without a Q), although even checking back in this case is hardly bad (pot controlling plus perhaps enabling us to get paid off from weaker hands with a river bet). The more tricky bluffy he is, the more I'd check behind (as we'd feel a little uncomfortable folding to a check/raise plus he might float the flop more to attempt to steal on later streets / bluff a busted draw).

The river really comes down to our read. It's a big bet, which from a bluffy person means "I want you to fold", but from an ABC person means "I want to get paid off the max". In general, I'd fold here readless. Next time don't post results in the OP as it may influence responses.

I find the "check/call, check/call, big river bet" line to be a big made hand way, way more often than a bluff, and I see people taking this line more and more with flopped monsters. I like the hand as played until the river.
