In cutoff. This kid to right of hero has around 110. I have him covered. He raises to 7. Has been opening pretty wide. I reraise to 22. All fold around to him. He hesitates and calls. Very close to 50 in pot. Flop is 842 rainbow. Yay. He bets 20.

Indeed I have queens. If I call, he could continue to bluff with overs. If he has nines or tens, an over could kill my action. If I raise him all in on flop, maybe I fold out some hands I'm crushing. I did something odd which I regret now. I raise to 65. He calls and goes all in on a ten turn for like 25. I call. He spikes a nine on river for a set.

Writing this all down, I feel gross. Was it really avoidable? How incorrect was I? Even with the ten, he's not going anywhere with 99.

OTF after his donk bet, he has 70 left, there is approx 70 in the pot before your action, I just jam the flop.

As far as the results, he put all his money in on the flop and turn as a massive dog. Be happy with getting your money in as a ~90% favorite. If you could consistently do that, you'd make heaps of money

Tbh I´m pretty sure the very first time I lost to a two outer I had enough sense not to question taking any other action just because I lost, if you know what I mean...

Don´t want to sound harsh, but you should have seen yourself (and probably did see it anyway) that you were a massive favourite when the money went in and just got unlucky.

Yea I know @sauhund .. it's like you're looking for some consolation by way of playing it better maybe to avoid the ***** of variance.

I'm cautious of blaming variance though.. I just think it can become a bad habit. especially when there's more EV
to be gained by really analyzing one's own game and any leaks/weaknesses.

Same session I lost aces to a set of 3s and got rivered a few times to 2 pair. Whatevs haha

I have no problem slow playing that flop especially after he bets. After he bets the $20 I'm pretty much calling down any run out and moving in if he checks. I have no problem with a decision to move in on the flop especially on a wetter board. The more he puts in himself is less he saves when he correctly folds to my shove.

once you 3bet him with a value hand and he has 50bbs you shouldnt fold postlfop ever anyway

You did fine, pardner .., You did fine. Don't you worry or second guess yourself. You got the money with the best hand. That's the name of the game. Get the money in with the best hand.

I’m a Hold'em player. I start with the best hand, try to. When you’re a Holde’m player, you don’t get out there and draw a lot of times. I start with the best hand, that’s the reason why I don’t have to draw. For big pots, big money, I got a good hand. I usually I got the best hand when I get my money in. I can’t help it if I get outdraw. If my opponent has the best hand at the last card, he would have the worst hand until that last card. He would have to outdraw me to take the pot away and the player who stays with the worst hand with the hopes of catching a winner,..., I’m gonna break him for sure. That’s a good Hold'em player.

There is no way you can avoid this bad beat. I have lost track of the number of times that I have lost as a ~92% fav otf & a ~96% fav ott. You can't ask for anything better.

Suck it up Buttercup!
