getting value from my straight 1/2

Im on the button with 6 5 at a table full of limping fish one of which will call down his whole stack with bottom pair and buy back in so I'm switching gears and playing a lot of cheap hands in position. So i call 2 limps...sb folds bb calls.

Pot: $9 flop is 3 4 7

It checks to me and I KNOW im getting at least a call if i bet so $7 it is.
I get 3 calls so now pot is $37.

Turn: K

Check around to me.

OK, heres where I'm not sure if i played the hand right. I know I have the nuts as well as a baby flush draw but how scared of higher flush coming in should I be? I pretty much decide to fire about 60% of the pot here & I'm pretty sure that at least 1 of the guys is calling. But after my $20 bet they all fold.

Maybe i should've slow played it there? I can't help but think I left a little value on the table. Thoughts?

You could overbet the pot on the flop, maybe like 15$. Most LLSNL fish aren't pot aware and think of bet size as absolute rather than relative to the pot. They will definitely call with a flush draw and pair+gutshot hands and with a pair of sevens. Whenever it's a wet board and you have a strong hand, just bet big on the flop and turn, loose passive players love to chase draws.

Re: getting value from my straight 1/2

Turn bet is fine, you probably got calls things like flush draws, gutshot straights and paired hands on the flop and they weren't calling anything higher than $10 there (which would give them odds to call on the FD... even though they might not know it.)

Agree with max on the flop size betting, bigger in that spot and they'll call with a lot, the King probably scared off their 7x, 4x or 3x hands on the turn. Even if you bet $15 flop and $15-$20 turn, they're likely to fold the turn.

After getting 3 calls on that flop, do not slowplay. There are so many cards that could split the pot or lose it for you. I would bet atleast 1/2 the pot if not 3/4 and be happy to take it down when they all fold. You probably made more $$ than you should have given the calls.

Dont worry you didnt do anything wrong. Its surprising no one called 1 prob had a gutshot another TP on the flop (scared with the king) and the other idk what. But the king prob scared one away and the others just folded.
You always hear what people say to do in these spots. Your at a fishy table you got the nuts Value bet them to death.

Re: getting value from my straight 1/2

I'm all about seeing cheap flops in position, so I like preflop.

With $9 in the pot I'd probably just throw out 2 red chips to make things easy; if they're calling $7, they're calling $10.

Might start depending on stack sizes, but with 3 other people still interested in the pot, I'd still be making a big bet on the turn. Heck, I'd probably go upwards of $30 here and hope someone has something worth sticking around with. The K is a sucky card for us which kinda kills our action against smallish pairs, so if no one is calling $30 then they weren't calling $20 either, so might as well make the bigger bet, IMO.

I'm never happy when everyone folds on the turn when I have the nuts; we're looking for calls here, not folds. Although I still bet big (I agree that 3/4 pot sounds good to me).

Thanks for the responses. I guess all I really missed out on was a few more dollars on the flop.

In order to win a big pot, your opponents also need to have a hand. Unfortunately for you, they didn't. I side with overbetting the flop in these situations. If there's a street that people will call, it's the flop with a draw or a pair. In general, weak passives start shutting down on the turn.
