So I am playing over at a friends house and it is getting late and I am down about $80.

Table knows i'm tight - as i've only showed down AK after hitting top pair. Only other hand I won was I bet 2 streets and won a decent sized pot.

so our stack is $140 - game will break soon and I wanted to try to get into a pot. I am a short stack and every one else is winning massive pots with trash. I think I am the only person at the table playing quality hands.

So table is playing really loose so when UTG makes it $10 - and I look down @ 99 in high jack - is this a +EV spot to make a move?

I ended up making it $35 and got 4 callers - and flop was QJ4. One of the callers just bet out $100 and I folded, but I think this was a mistake. The player claimed he had AQ and would of called up to a $50bet pre.... I think folding is weak and calling would of got 3bet at a table like this. I saw someone 3bet to $25 with QJo and than stacked off as a bluff as he thought he hit a pair. Table is basically full of maniacs.

I feel like my raises do get some respect though, as I do seem to show down winners/ good pre flop cards.

With your stack at described table you could just call/backraise shove pre to any 3bet.

Seems like a fine line given the table dynamic, or +1 to the post above about getting it in against a 3bet if you want to gamble a bit
