Extreme LAGgy hero QQ 1/2

Hero is playing very LAG. Just lost a pot to villain after making it 11$ preflop with A2 suited and got called down by 3's. Villain has 3bet hero twice over 6 hours and has shown AA and AQs.

Hand: hero (300bbs) is dealt QQ MP and makes it $11. Villain shoves 125bb on the button. Hero?

Re: Extreme LAGgy hero QQ 1/2

To make a call is pretty much 100% read dependent, and the reads that matter aren't coming from any of the history you posted. You also didn't say how much he 3bet you with AA/AQs and what he has done versus other players in similar situations. Has he ever done another absurd preflop shove like this?

There are generally 2 types of hands I see this done with at 1/2.

1. Super premiums like AA/KK (mainly AA), where the random donk shows them afterward and claims he doesn't want to get sucked out on.

2. Medium pocket pairs through QQ, where again the person shoves because they think it's best to get it in preflop and they never worry about you having a premium hand.

IFF you know it is the second case obviously get it in, but in general fold.

Re: Extreme LAGgy hero QQ 1/2

I think players are way more likely to ship 88(maybe not 88),99,TT, AK,AQ because they are worried about playing them post flop than they are to ship KK/AA over your raise here. Also since you are in MP you will have more hands than just big pairs and AQ/AK if you were UTG and he shoved over your raise I think it's a lot closer to a fold.

That being said though he did get involved and made a correct call down with 3's that means he may not be uncomfortable playing the small/mid pairs post flop.

Re: Extreme LAGgy hero QQ 1/2

I called because i thought villain was fed up with me raising a lot and tired of getting out played post flop. I guess its one of those hands where you had to be at the table. Villain has never done that and he 3bet AA and AQs to $40.

Re: Extreme LAGgy hero QQ 1/2

for the most part, I think this is QQ-TT MORE often than AA-KK, so technically I'd say it's EV+ in a vacuum. But it's pretty close to neutral EV, and you really cant know one way or the other without reads, and it will increase your variance obviously.

with this villan i'd call considering he did a normal 3B with AA

I would put villain on KK or AK; probably never AA (it's waste), and usually not mid-pairs (he only 3 bet u twice in 6 hours).. I'd say toss a coin. It's realy close.

I think you can discount AA/KK from his range because he would prob 3-bet them smaller to induce action. His range is prob more like QQ-TT,AQs+,AQo+ which we have 67% equity against. I'm not folding vs this villain.

If you're playing what I would consider extreme LAG, it is a snap call. That said, I don't know if we have the same concept of extreme LAG. An extreme LAG is raising every limped pot in late position and pounding players that call until they fold. You're raising 30%+ of all hands pf. The only time you're calling is because you plan to c/r the pfr on boards he likely missed.

Without more info and just based off of your image and my experience at 1-2nl, this has to be AA or KK.

Re: Extreme LAGgy hero QQ 1/2

If you can't snap here, don't play LAG.

Even without a LAG image, QQ has decent equity against an open shove of 125bb IMO.

If this V is 3betting you with AQs, and "calling you down" with 33 post-flop, I'd range him on 88-JJ/A10s-AQo.

Against this range you're 75%; in other words, you're Qs virtually play like As here.
