So i'm at a $1 - $3 game with a $100 Starting stack. This is the very first hand.

I'm in the cutoff with AdJd, 4 players limp behind action is on me i raise to $15.
1 limper folds 3 call. Big Blind & Small Blind fold so i have position.

Flop : Ax9d8h Pot = $67

Action is checked around to me, i bet $30, Ep folds Mp and Hj calls.

Turn : Th Pot = $157 Effective stack =$55

Action is checked around to me, i then check.

River : Jc

Mp checks, Hj bets $50, we both fold.

I felt like a made mistake in not shoving the turn since my equity was at its highest in the hand.

Feel free to comment and tell me what i could have done better thanks.

Preflop with 4 limpers and a short stack you need to either raise more or just fold. Which is better is hard to say without more information on the table.

As played, bet a bit more on the flop and then shove turn. On the river tell the floor there is a bad deck because there are 2 Jds in play.

What's with the short stack? Flop pot and your stack are pretty close, could almost jam there. Turn is a definite jam, no idea why we check with top pair with a straight draw and how much we have behind.

If you were deeper, your play would be different. But, yeah, your short stack has got to get in the middle on the turn.

bigger pre, yes. Flop bet is good, turn check is fine, but bet wouldve been fine too. River call or fold is based on reads, but mostly fold, WP.

You have $85 behind and $67 in the pot.

I say shove the flop.

Especially considering pre is too small. If size bigger (correctly,) pre then flop would be an easy shove when it comes as it did.

Also, don't by in for only 33 BBS. Unless you are a losing player. If you are a winning player you're giving up way to much edge buying in that short.

If you are going to buy in this short you can absolutely never fold this here, as making good top pair hands and then GII'ng with them sooner than later is literally where almost all your profit will come from at this stack size.

$30-35 pre, probably only get one caller, so pot will be $60-70, then shove flop.

With 4 limpers you need to raise to at least 25. AJ isn't the greatest off 100 stack though . As played shove turn. Maybe just shove flop though it's barely an over bet and then boom you have like a 140 stack

I'd typically raise a little more because we don't want all these callers, but being that we are so shortstacked it doesn't matter quite as much. ETA: Usually I'm all for limiting the field, but if multiple people want to come along for lol huge 15+% of their stack, that's kinda getting ok with me (although having said that AJ is probably one of the few hands that really does want a limited field as it is beaten by as almost many hands as it is ahead of on most Axx flops).

Not the greatest flop as now a couple of other reasonable Ax hands also moved ahead, but the fact is we have just $85 left in a $67 pot on a drawy board and have TPGK. We're committed. I just shove with these stacks.

When you feel you are committed, which I believe we were on the flop, then we should basically work towards getting stacks in ASAP. With only a little over a PSB on the flop, that shoulda been the flop. The turn card actually sucks (so many hands just moved ahead), but with only a 1/3 PSB left there's really nothing we can probably do at this point other than shove it in.
