BB was an older lady who had just been seated. She was waiting for a seat in 3-6
http://www.pokerhandreplays.com/view.php/id/7026141

Seemed straight forward to me, but I'm new to cash games and wondering if I should have been more cautious instead of isoing?
1-2NL
Hero QQ $250
V1 $33
V2 $99
1 limper, I raise to $15. V1 in sb ships for $33. V2 in bb flats. I attempt to iso and move all in. V2 calls the rest of her stack
She tables AA and FTW. Should I have just flatted pre, or do cards play themselves?

thanks for the quick reply. I've only recently started playing cash games seriously and just wanted some confirmation.

There's just no way to know what an unknown lady is flatting 1/3 of her 50 bb stack with so yeah I'd have played it the same.

Without history with V1 and V2 reshoving is the best way to play this.

There are some specific situations where you could get away from your hand. If you know both V1 and V2 are on tight ranges you can have < 40% equity and it's best to just give up your $15 or flat and see the flop depending. If you know V2 is super tight and has a JJ+ or tighter range then just fold, she doesn't have enough money for it to be worth calling in the hopes of catching a queen on the flop. You can't give that sort of super tight range to an unknown at 1/2 but an older lady flatting the shove out of the blinds would make me nervous.

Thanks QuadJ. That type of insight about how player types typically play is what I was looking for.

OP, please don't post results in your hands. Post up to your decision point and then stop and ask for opinions on you various options. Never include what V showed down until the discussion dies down, or at least one day.

Yeah, always playing this hand the same way.

This hand plays itself imo. Hopefully we snagged a Queen.

Turn it the other way, do you think if she had QQ and you had AA here it would've played any differently?

Why would you try to ISO SB? BB had just cold called a 3-bet for a third of her stack and was pot committed.

I would imagine that QQ is still ahead of her cold call range.

That doesn't mean ISO is comprehensible. And in fact it means we don't want ISO.

In general, ISO in cash games is not max+ev.

However, given stacks, gii.

Thanks BadlyBeaten. I'm shifting from tournament play and don't have a grasp yet on proper cash game play. Another note for the notebook.

I have a similar problem. I tend to play stack defensive in cash games.

That's the only problem I had with this hand. I'm raising pre for value and hope that BB comes along since we crush her range. Definitely don't want to ISO here.
