1/2 spread limit to $100 at Black Hawk CO.

It is Monday night around 11pm. I recently had gotten switched to a different table because I didn't like the feel of the previous table I was at.

Girl to my left has a decent sized stack of around 800. (No max buy-in in Colorado).

I look down at KJo in late position. She is on the button. Few limps.

I raise to 6 dollars. Villian calls. And two other callers.

Flop: Axx

I bet out 15. Villian (girl) calls.

Turn: 8 I bet out 30. Villian calls.

River: x I'm counting the three barrel on river representing an Ace with a decent kicker so I bet $50.

Villian tanks for a while and calls. I show the bluff and villian flips over pocket queens.

Not sure if something in person I did made her call or what but I had been playing pretty tight and feel like 90% of the time I will be holding the Ace.

What do you guys think of the hand?

people in 1/2 don't fold aces, especially after calling twice. Prob c/f otf.

There was an ace on the flop, you bet twice with air and she called twice. She most likely has an ace.

If it was me, I would have probably check/folded the flop 4 ways OOP, depending on what the other xx's were.

It's very difficult to have a nuanced view of the hand or give good advice without knowing what two of the cards are on the flop or what the river is. In particular, was there a flush draw or other draws on the flop? If she didn't believe you had an ace on the flop or the turn, so thought her queens were good, what's has occurred by river to change her mind?

Basically, If I got called by 3 spots with KJ pre and board is ace-high, I'm not c-betting. People love to call pre with Ax. A much better board to c bet with air is king-high.

Your preflop raise is much too small. Would you raise to $6 with AA? Your raise sizing should be the same regardless of your hand strength. This is a big indicator of hand strength in new players.

But I don't think you should be raising KJo over a bunch of limpers without the button until you are much more comfortable playing postflop. This is just a fold.

The other posters here are trying to tell you that people are calling stations and can be very difficult to bluff. This hand is a good example of that. This girl just couldn't find a way to fold her pocket queens on an ace high board. These players are very easy to beat, but you don't do it by bluffing.

There is no good reason to bluff a multiway pot on an ace high flop. If you can't beat TPGK or draw to beat it then there's no reason to bluff here. It's just lighting money on fire.

Agreed. I rarely ever bluff but had recently gotten felted at the previous table with pocket queens vs flush draw AI on flop. Just feel like she should have folded to the river bet but as you said 1/2 players don't fold. So no point in bluffing.
