Effective stacks.$300 in a 1/2 game. I'm in the cutoff with A8o. Game is loose as. A whale opens in Ep for $12. I call and button calls.

Flop is Kh 7d 4d. We all check. Turn is 8h.
OR bets $25. I call and then button pops it to $80. OR folds and I call. River is 5h. I check and button goes all in....

What's the play here? My thinking was that he is semi bluffing turn so I call but on river most draws get there??

Fold pre. That hand just won't play well.

Fold to turn raise. You can justify calling the bet once, but trying to bluff catch a turn raise oop is expensive as anything

Fold to river all in. The only thing you beat is a busted diamond semi bluff in a spot where he often would not semi bluff it.

agree with fold, fold, fold.

A8o doesn't play well, even or esp. on a loose table. you'll always have difficult decisions.

Thanks for the replies. I did end up calling and he had 62s for a backdrop Fd. Next time I'll just fold pre I hate the river call but I was couple beers in.

98% of the time fold pre.
The other 2% 3bet pre if the whale will play super terrible post flop and is opening 100% of hands and will call with the same 100%.

As played, fold the turn.
As played, fold the river.
