1-3 with optional straddle 9 handed game.
New to table but familiar with most of the rooms player pool but happen to see a few new faces.
As im just settling in and getting my stacks set up i see the following hand:

Late position Winning LAG opens to $10 sitting on 400ish, button short stacking gambler who usually looses a few $100 buy ins flats as expected and unknown player in BB flats. BB is mid 40s native american dude whos sitting with about 200 and a notebook which he appears to be writing notes in and later explains he wants to write a book.

Flop is J73 rainbow

Opener c bets half pot and BB calls

Turns a 9 that develops a flush draw

BB checks to aggressor who continues for 3/4 pot. BB calls

river is an 8 (J7398) bringing 4 to a str8 but leaves the flush draw busted.

BB tank checks and Aggressor snap flips up KK and cringes when he sees he lost to 83o and makes a comment on what chapter of the book that'll be.

Im obviously excited to be playing with this guy and even more so to be on his direct left but also a little thrown by what im in for cuz the whole note taking thing shows hes taking it seriously but that hand was ridiculous. He's limping literaly everything and calling nearly everything pre if its under like 30bux. he had over 300 in front him after that 83>KK hand but has limped half of that away and appears a bit shook up about it.(playing really fast and grunting at missed boards)

He limps one of the button and i isolate with 89s from button to 15. heads up

Q75 rainbow i have back door flush draw. he checks i c bet 20 he calls

turn a 9 bringing a flush draw (not mine) there's about 70 in the middle and he shoves for like 125.

I had no reads on his bluffing tendencies other then he seemed capable and was scooping some small ones with out show down.

the line is just so bizarre to me and i know worrying about what the right play here isn't really necessary cuz its such a rare line but it was a sick curve ball.

is he just trying to get value with a random two pair or just thinks a Q is good and doesnt realize that sizing is huge? i block bluff hands with mine which makes it bad to call down with but then i got to thinking wat would i do with AA? JJ? this hand has better equity then what im repping if im behind so i guess im only calling sets and straights and if thats the case is his sizing good for a bluff? way over thought this one ............... thoughts?

I'll give an ATC fish credit for top pair+ here every time until he proves me wrong. Given how many hands he's going to be involved in, it's only a matter of time until he proves me wrong/right.

in my experience I usually see this kind of spastic stop n go play with a hand that simply turned some equity. Since you say the turn brought in a flush draw my guess is that he actually has that flush draw now. He probably called the flop with bottom pair again, maybe even no pair at all just to try and hit that flush draw, and when it came in this is just him semi-bluffing at it.

If his range is as wide as 83o, even though we dont have a tell on his overall playstyle, the 83o says so much about this type of player that I just dont give them credit for anything ever, so I think I look him up here with 2nd pair one time for that price.

Not sure why iso'ing this guy with 89s is any good. Don't know why cbetting it is any good either. Just fold to shove. Who knows what this guy is doing. ISO with big card hands. Much easier to snap off with top pair.
