Are you aware that it's actually more likely that he flops a set than you flop 2 pr? Is it a cooler every time someone at the table (other than you) flops a set?

If you're folding a lot of flops with two diamonds, you're only continuing when you flop two pair +. How often does that happen (not a rhetorical question, I don't know)? And when it does and a lot of money goes into the pot, how often is your bottom two pair, baby flush or trips/no kicker behind?

We have 2 hearts, not diamonds. Best to do a diamond check after the flop to ensure you have what you think you have.

No way, please tell me more. Flopping bottom two vs top set on 974 vs a PFR with a range of 99+/AK happens to me all the time. I'm really worried about that one. JFC. If I was in this hand my assumption would be that Vs range is mostly JJ+ since most 1/2 players are incapable of raising worse than that from SB.

I would fold preflop as you did.

We're not just playing the raiser (who sounds like we have a pretty good read on); we're also playing the 3 other guys behind us that will likely call if we call. We then have to play this tricky hand in both horrible relative position (first to act after the raiser with people to react behind us, making it very difficult to face a bet) and absolute position (where most of the players will have position on us). Plus we can easily be dominated drawwise by someone else at the table, and that is going to be an expensive situation OOP.

ETA: Much more in the Johnny camp than I am in the WJ camp on this one, mostly for same reasons Johnny outlines.
