5/10 second nuts 200bb deep facing action

villain:loose preflop, like to limp ip, tight postflop, showed some big hands at showdown. I saw him bluff raise ott with draws ip.

The hand we played:

hero got t8o otb, limp in family pot.
flop qj9ss, villain bet 2/3 pot on HJ, everybody fold, hero raise 3x, villain reraise 3.5x, hero call. turn blank, villain instantly shove something like 1.5x pot.

Here I think villain got kt or t8, and I think I should raise/fold otf or just call might be better?

Any thoughts?

Try med-stakes NL

FWIW, why not shove flop. No one's b/r/f and you have the 2nd nuts.

ty.

Shoving otf is an option. I thought villian will not call with worse during the game, but the thought might be flawed.

^ He's probably doing this with: pair+fd, pair+sd, pair+sd+fd, set, could be a little spazzy and just have the nfd.

His line is indicative of a fish who is only afraid of a flush draw and doesn't want you to make one.

With that being said, there are a lot of hands that have this line of thinking that we have in really rough shape. I'd happily get it in here most of the time. If this wasn't a FD board his range would be much tighter but players play sooo much faster on wetter boards IMO

THIS, same thing happened to me with low straight flopped and the guy raised big repping the nut straight - but he simply had top two.

Stop seeing monsters under the bed and make the shove on the flop, as played you basically have to call the turn since his range could be what ElDiesel says above: Sets, two pr etc - hands we are killing!

Straight over straight is a cooler and folding would be wrong without some really deep stacks and a lot of reads on V.

I would raise pre if I decided to play that hand. That way I'm never folding.

As played, it sucks but its also hard to imagine villain having ONLY KT....

It sucks cuz this guy seems so damn passive/weak that he probably does need specifically the nuts to "wake up" and start bet/3betting and all that.

Btw guys, a "passive" villain who is limping is much less likely to play flush draws or pair+draw hands extremely aggressively (especially in a limped pot)

I completely agree with this and honestly I think he doesn't have a flush draw almost ever here, but all versions of sets, all two pair combos, and both straights are taking this exact line because he doesn't want to lose to a flush draw.

What is your image? Have you been caught semi bluffing? If so, I think a flop shove is in order.

Pf is probably a fold or raise situation.

Otf too many bad turn cards and hands that will pay off a ship to not ship here.
