Re: 2-5NL KK UTG 7 callers, Now what?

Grunch

I think this flop should be bet. I would bet about 50. If this bet is successful just 20% of the time it is profitable. U can get called by worse pps and identify if Qx is in play. There 14 cards in opponents hands and 47 unknown cards, so there is a decent chance no one has a Q. If the flop gets checked, u risk allowing a hand u had beat like Ax or pp to catch up. I'm folding to a raise otf and I realize this could be exploited by savvy players w/o a Q but those types are rare. If called otf, I am checking ott and if checked through block/value betting small otr.

Re: 2-5NL KK UTG 7 callers, Now what?

I'm with you SABR. I was like F**K if I'm gonna fold KK getting 8-1 for $25 bucks. If someone reraises behind me well then I just burned 25 but I wasn't leaving for 25. Plus there are so many morons live he could even be betting A3s on that flop lol. And if he's "slow playin" 33 and i spike a K he pays me $350 more.

It was just a sick spot. I really think I like your $75 size for b/f river though.

I actually think the flop isn't a terrible b/f. Unless you're playing with either maniacs or thinking LAGs, no one raises you on the flop without a Queen. You're unlikely to be bluffed if you bet.

If I was a villain with basically ATC in LP here I'm betting something here if it's checked to me and often taking it down.

Villains absolutely could call JJ,TT etc here and it also clarifies the hand. If you bet $75 and get called, if you check TT is going to check back very often. If you are called and check and he bombs the turn, you're dead to a queen (or he's making a very good (or bad) bluff) and you can fold.

I think c/f is ok too though, I just think there can be a case for b/f flop.

Re: 2-5NL KK UTG 7 callers, Now what?

Results:

Pot $325
I check(just couldn't get myself to bet here which was probably wrong)
villain checks and shrugs, holds on to his cards and motions to me like to show him the winner. I flip my KK and he mucks.

I think I should have b/f river for like $75 here for value but just couldn't pull trigger. Confused so I checked as a default.

I also think that the flop b/f idea that several of you suggested has some merit but I feel it's like that bet for information reasoning that I usually hate.

Do you guys even play live? Check folding on the flop to even a normal size bet would be dumb. People bet here all the time with worse pairs just to take it down.

Check is fine on the flop. I'm never folding for $25. If someone raises, whatever then you can just fold. Turn I'm never folding either. River is a small bet/fold.

Ill call, but dont be surprised when villian shows a q.
I see this kinda betting and usually the reasoning goes something like " hey, 25 bucks is a lot of money..." ok...

Re: 2-5NL KK UTG 7 callers, Now what?

Since it's WA/WB otf checking is the way to go. Since it's 7-way, any sizable bet is highly unlikely to be a bluff and most people aren't capable of betting TT-JJ for value here mw, so c/f-ing is the way to go. Since $25 is not a sizable bet, you can easily call two streets. By the river his range looks like Qx, boats and PPs<Q. Your options are c/f or block-bet/fold. Blocking makes sense to me, for say $100. If we get called by 88-JJ that's enough combos to offset the times we are value-owning ourselves.

+1 - $25 on the flop is essentially a check given the sizeable potsize.
