2/5 - Rivered a boat, now what?

2/5NL 500max game at local casino...chose this particular table of the 5 available bc it was piles deep and didn't recognize anyone except one player, whom I ended up playing this hand with:

Villain: 35-40 y/o thinking reg...very surprisingly solid (and I don't use that term loosely, especially in LLSNL). He's pretty quiet, but it's obvious he respects my game and vice versa and that we're the only two players at this table that have a clue, though we've never really talked.

Playing 8-handed...he opens UTG to 20, loose passive fish UTG1 flats, we flat T T in MP, folds to BB who calls.

Flop ($82): K T 9

Everyone including original raiser checks to me, I bet $55, only the original raiser calls.

Turn ($192): K T 9 Q

Chk, chk.

River ($192): K T 9 Q 9

Villain bets $135....Hero ???

Hero has a total of $425 ($290 on top of river bet)...I feel like a nit just calling, but I can't think of any worse hands that he'd play this way then b/c river with. Thoughts?

Just calling here is pretty criminal. Easy shove I'd say. Villain can show up with AJ AK JJ maybe K9 or 910 if he's tryin to open his preflop game a little bit.

All in all I'd say this is a pretty easy shove. But what do I know.

Edit. Didn't realize flop was all clubs which probably makes it an easier shove.

It kind of looks like he's trying to rep the hand you're holding IMO.

Re: 2/5 - Rivered a boat, now what?

His line is FOS, a shove here is fine, a call is fine as well since he folds out all his bluffs (since he is ROCK solid as u said), he is not calling with anything u beat...

It's like 50/50 shove/call....

Any other villain, easy shove

Can't believe no one said fold here ... Calling range 99+ ... Learn from the pros at WSOP

Shove. He calls a non-zero percent of the time with NF, and if he folds you're not out anything. His line is FOS for bigger boats, so only hand you have to worry about is 99.

agreed, pretty easy shove... otherwise, your river raises are always the nuts which is too predictable...

Re: 2/5 - Rivered a boat, now what?

Easy shove. Only 4 hands that beat you and none really seem practical to me. If he had KK or 99, he'd most certainly bet that flop, or at the very least check/raise. I'm basing this on trusting your judgment that he is the solid thinking player you depicted him to be. If he had QQ, he'd most likely be the flop as well, although the check/call is reasonable. I'd expect him to bet a turned set though, this doesn't seem like a good spot for pot control.

So the only hand that I can see playing this way that beats you is QJ for the pure nuts....but I mean hey, flopping straight flushes is a freak accident.

T9 is possible I guess...he's probably not opening K9 tho, definitely not bet/calling AK, and I think he might lead his Jx hands on the turn because he knows I'm gonna check back a lot...and even if he doesn't, I'm pretty sure he's still b/f'ing them OTR.

NF is what I wasn't sure about...I thought he'd be inclined to just 3barrel all of his flushes (at least I would) because he might miss a lot of value otherwise...especially against me because he knows I'm probably gonna check back turn a lot on this kind of texture if we go HU. Not 100% sure he wouldn't check NF on flop, but it seems bad and doesn't seem like something this villain would do, I'm not certain tho...also not sure tbh if he b/c NF, he may.

Re: 2/5 - Rivered a boat, now what?

You beat AQcc and AJcc and lose to KK QQ 99, and QJcc. You also said he is surprisingly solid for 2/5 thus he is probably not bluffing, and probably more inclinded to lead this flop with the nut flush and check call a set, not trying to build a giant pot just yet.

Yeah I'm never flatting this here. After the turn check, your hand is very under repped and the board only got better for you. If your always flatting here with this drawy of a board and your hand strength, he's going to be able to exploit you by bet/folding non stop on rivers vs you. KK is really the only hand your losing too aside from QQ and idk if he'd flop this even with QcQx.
