Ok. So villain is one of those guys who probably played online back in the day and was a small winner and now grinds live and is still a small winner.

Dont ask me how I know that. He just seems the right age and has the right table talk. I see him as one of those guys who is competent but not special.

Hero is BB with 1300 having shown down only AA and only involved in 3 or 4 pots over the last hour+ because he is watching the yankee game and is folding ATo and other borderline stuff

Folding pre a lot of the time here unless it is a min raise you are going to be OOP, with a trash hand

You dont say how many called the flop bet so dont really know what happened I am guess hero is only 1 too call.

Turn you pick up equity and PFR 2nd barrell is quite small so I get why you check/raised but the 4d is a brickish card so can see villian putting you a big combo draw.

I rather you just call as you are oop and this hand can have potential reverse implied odds

River puts you in a real tough spot as when villian is calling big bets on the turn they are rarely folding river
I am almost in the camp of that worst is never going to call given your reads that villain half competent and so you are really turning this into a bluff.
If you going to bluff at it I guess 400ish but if called am never feeling good about it.

Too many of his draws contain a K, and I doubt he folds now.

Turn raise is clicking buttons against a thinking player. You rep nothing. Zero chance you are check-calling with a set or 2-pair on that flop. You are turning a hand with decent showdown equity into a bluff that is only going to succeed in folding out hands that you don't even want to fold. Just call the turn then check/evaluate river if you miss.

I don't like the turn raise. The 4 was not a card that was likely to change the lead. I think it does set up some river plays though. I'd be comfortable bluffing hearts, 8's and K's on the river. Of course we would bet a diamond too.
As played I think you have a bluff catcher. Check and see how he bets. Call or fold depending on size and read at the time.
