Scenario:

At this poker room in LA, this 2/5 game (200-500) runs occasionally. But if it does, its the same players, pretty spewing gambling game. Most pots are multi way, average open raise size is 30, where some people open raise 50 and still get multiple callers. I do know most of the players there except of a few.

Hero 500, UTG +2 AhAs (3rd hand I am dealt when I just sit down)
V1 (500 ish) SB
V2 UTG +1 (1K) super calling station.
V3 UTG +3 (500 ish not sure on exact count)

UTG +1 Limps, I open raise $30 with AA, V3 calls, SB Calls, BB folds, UTG +1 calls.

Pot = $120 after drop. 4 players.

Flop QJ4.
V1 = SB, checks, V2 UTG +1 checks, I cbet ($60) (?? Bet more?), V3 UTG +3 calls, SB calls, V2 folds.

Pot 300

Turn T

SB Checks, I cbet $150 (?? bet more??), UTG +3 calls, SB calls.

Pot 750

River 3

SB Checks, What do you do here?

Just a few notes on hand reading. V3, I have never seen before. I have zero knowledge about him except that he has position on me. V1 is kind of a calling station, definitely a losing player in the long run. V2 is 100 percent a loose crazy player. 2nd pair is the nuts for him. Gut shots, bottom pair hes is never folding.

If they will call $50 pre, why didn't you raise to $50? I think I would have gone more on the flop, ~$90 - $100.

Half your stack is in the middle, but against an unknown and a calling station, I'm not sure a bet is worth it here, even if you do have the Ah. I think I check and evaluate. I doubt V3 is betting with less than a flush and I doubt V1 is folding two pair or better.

If you think either will fold a smaller flush and/or V1 will fold two pair or better, shove.

Your right, my first mistake was not raising more pre. I knew with the rest of them, they knew me as a tighter player plus I was someone what in early position so i leaned on making it 30. But in hindsight, yes, I should have made it 45 or so.

On this game, people are never folding small flushes, maybe two pair but doubtful. Its a, less make hands type game, and bet for value.

Then check/fold. They are not folding better and I highly doubt they are betting with worse.

If you made it 60 to 70 pre (if 50 gets multiple callers that should be ok) that hand wouldve been much easier. As played, I don't mind flop and turn, don't wanna make it too much, hopefully keep weaker hands /draws, pair + heart combos in. River is a clear check/evaluate if they bet

Okay.

So I ended up checking as I was pretty sure if V3 was betting, I was going to reevalute.

Turns out he checked behind and said Q. SB folded and I showed.

Prob the only hand you get value from is kq/aq. Check.

with the pot that big and no raise on the turn you have to be good. so i bet the river hard. someone with a top pair will call and who knows what else thinking you may have the dry ace of hearts and turned it to a bluff.
i would have found a way to be all in on this hand.

Some thoughts: I'm a big fan of half pot-sized bets. But not on this board. Bet ~$100 OTF and depending on how many players call your flop bet, jam the turn.

I would hope not. Folding a flush, for 100 bbs, would be ridiculous at a table like this.

Sounds like pechanga. The 2/5 in actual Los Angeles is forces short stacking. You gotta play 5/5 if you want to buy in for 100bb+
