hero UTG($409) raise to $10 w 66

MP($400) reraise to $30

BTN ($250) calls $30

Hero calls $20

flop 863

Hero checks, MP bets $80, BTN calls $80 , Hero shoves $379

Any and all thoughts appreciated. First time posting a hand on a forum, and my beginner poker brain tells me I should shove this spot every time. As it turns out, MP folded probably a big pocket pair and BTN called his remaining $140 with AQ and hit his flush.

How's this table playing? At my loose table I would never open 66 here (and in fact, I'm now leaning towards typically just folding it). Really hate the juicer raise cuz in a lot of cases all it does is help bring decent sized stacks into play, and unless our opponent who is willing to get in $400+ postflop is an idiot when we flop a set, there's a good chance we just coolered ourselves.

Even calling the 3bet isn't necessarily a no brainer. One good thing we have going for us is that the stack sizes are ok (giving us 22+ IO). Another is that this is a 3bet pot, and if MP is playing snug, that means there is a decent chance he has an overpair that might have difficulty getting away (is he snug?). However, we'll be OOP plus only in a 3way pot (making it a little more difficult to get paid off). However, thanks to these odds we probably only need 1 or 2 bets going in postflop to actually make money, so I also call.

SPR is about 4. The board does have a flush draw. I'm either/or. Part of me wants to just donk 1/2 PSB on each street (obviously getting it in ASAP if 3better raises). Another part of me is cooler with the line you took (repping flush draw + overs, which I would play the same way) and getting in money before a scare card comes (although does risk overpair making a hero fold).

This was a new table they had just started up and I had just shown down with KK where I raised from early position , so I guess I was representing a strong holding with the sole intention of set mining. Not too bright , I suppose.
Thanks for your thoughts GGeek

Meh 66 is a little too loose from UTG 9-max. Probably start with 77 at the minimum.

AP, x/jam the best play. Not donking out

I agree, if you are always raising 66 UTG you are raising too many hands there (77 too). It's not so much about balance as it is you just end up playing too weak a range overall against 8 other players. You could raise some 66 if you want to balance your UTG opening range, but that's probably not necessary at 2/3.

Flop is fine, nh. What do you do if BTN folds to the 80? I think there's merit to either calling, c/minraising or c/jamming.

Seems good, if BTN folded, I'd probably x-c, x-jam turn.

Looks good to me,I've played in this game quite a bit and unless the 3 better is an old man coffee type then he didn't fold an overpair. Also be aware of stack sizes as the min buy in is only $100,which means opening 66 UTG (is borderline anyway) becomes a huge leak.

Flop is obviously fine, folding pre often better especially with certain table dynamics

Thanks for the replies. Does anybody recommend limping UTG with 66 or should it usually be a fold?( I think thats consensus from this posts' replies.)

Limp/calling I find is usually best. Obviously table dependent
