I recall adding +1 to our outs per backdoor in my Limit days. This simply doesn't apply to NL as in Limit we'll always be able to realize our equity if we pickup the backdoor draw on the turn (because almost always we're getting immediate odds we need to call a turn bet in Limit), whereas this isn't the case in NL (where we'll rarely have the odds to call a turn bet, especially OOP where getting paid off on the river will be much more difficult).
In NL my guess is their worth is more to do with their semi-bluffing opportunities. But being OOP, lotta of our backdoors might improve his hand, the general mistake of villains calling to much (not folding too much), etc., still make this concept overrated.
