If there were 1 or 2 limpers in front of you then I don't mind raising here but the entire table has limped in front of you.

I shall be so bold as to claim they are both categorically incorrect and that limping at a loose passive table here is the best decision.

I’m not convinced it is more profitable in this multi-way scenario. Principle reasons: 1) banking on showdown equity only; 2) reverse implied odds, e.g higher diamond flush.

Raising especially OTB, along with a weak-tight image (Gobble, please correct as need be) adds fold equity to our showdown equity. By the way, if all fold pre I’ll be overjoyed raking the small pot … we have 8-high!

I understand the dynamics of the table, but am fairly the field can still be reduced. If the field is that weak we should be targeting, aiming to outplay the less skilled villains post-flop anyway. I view this as a potential opportunity, especially if running dry the last few orbits.

Again, I’m folding pre more than raising, but making a case for the latter in certain spots.
The reason its okay to just limp 86s here is that you should be much better than all your opponents post flop since its llsl and you're otb. So on average you will be able to get more money out of them when you are ahead and lose less against them when you are behind. I think folding pre is a huge mistake unless you have zero confidence in your post flop game. I could understand raising as I would rather play 86s heads up than multiway but In a loose passive 1/3 game I'll be limping otb most of the time with this hand.

Yea this is one of the tougher spots you will get into but is it still not +EV? I mean you most likely have the best hand and now there is a ton of dead money in the pot. Or would you have rather folded and not been in this situation? The decision is between raising and calling not raising and folding.
