1/2 Preflop AI decision with KK

The scene: Mirage late night. Table is full of standard (sometimes drunk) tourists. Villain for the hand is in Seat 1 and is a local.

Read on Villain: Very tight. Over about 1.5 hours seldom raised and when he did was almost never in EP. Typical raise amount was less than $10, once he raised to $10 and once to $12. Bought in for $200 and is down to about $160 after having chipped up and then lost a sizeable hand to a rivered flush (he did not show his holding that hand). Has folded to 3bets almost 100%.

The hand:

Villain raises in UTG+2 to $11. One call from a drunk moron who shipped QQ on an A high board against obvious resistance and ended up losing 150BB on the hand (to a set of 9s no less, lol). Folded to Hero in SB who looks down at KK.

Hero 3bets to $40. BB folds, back around to Villain.

Villain fairly quickly announces he is all in for another $113. Drunk monkey folds.

$113 to call, pot is $93.

Hero?

What kind of hand do you need pre flop to make this call?? AA is there sometimes, or a suckout later, but that is just part of the game!

Call at these stack sizes.

Your introduction seems to be setting up the hand as if villains 4bet range is AA/KK. It can depend on how strongly you feel about this. But if you do feel this way why not just call preflop instead of 3bet? You keep drunk in also.

Thanks for the commentary all.

I guess my introduction didn't do justice to how tight Villain appeared to be. I honestly felt KK/AA was more like 90-95% of the range he'd do this with.

I raised to hopefully push the tight player off his hand and go heads-up with the drunk. Obviously didn't work out that way!

Anyhow, the result:

OMFG... When I play in Vegas for the first time I will make sure to get insane drunk and play 1/2.... Just 3/4bet relentlessly and watch the nits fold.

Oh yeah, this is a snap call. Not even close lmao

Ok Ok enough with the pictures, but what you wrote in there means you have some serious flaws understanding the game.

It is not a right fold...this guy will have the occasional AK, QQ and JJ...as much as AA...u should never worry about stacking off with KK preflop because on the long run, KK vs AA will happen as much as AA vs KK...
The real problem is when u start folding KK preflop less than 100bb eff....now this is when u start losing money (not talking results oriented because **** results, i'm talking long run)

This is a standard call based on the stack sizes. You're not folding here for another $113 when you've got $40 invested. He has QQ, the other KK, or AKs enough to justify getting it in.

Not sure if my maths is right but I worked out that even if villan was only doing this with kings and aces then your equity is $103 so just short of a call. So call.

AA & KK against 1 player HU pre flop is almost the same hand math wise! Your reads better be rock solid if you fold these pre, otherwise you are giving up a ton of value over sessions. GL
