1/2 NL - Horseshoe Hammond

Hero: ($400) Tight image, been card dead since Villain arrived at the table ~1 hour ago.

Villain: ($275) Unknown. Young ghetto kid. Competent, obvious he plays quite a bit. Seems like an action player since he's been involved in quite a bit of pots, mostly calling raises pre. We've seen him double barrel with air twice when checked to.

Preflop: V straddles to 5, UTG limps, Hero raises to 20 in BB with AA Villain calls.

Read: V looked like he didn't want to call, kinda threw his chips in like he's feeling obligated to defend his straddle. So I am very confident he does not have a pair in his hand.

Flop: (43) TTT Hero checks, V bets 20, Hero calls.

I check/call here because i'm very confident in my read that V does not have a pocket pair so i feel like the most +EV play is to check/call and bluff catch and let him barrel off.

Turn: (82) 7 Hero checks, Villain bets 60, Hero calls.

River: (202) 3 Hero checks, Villain shoves all-in for 175, Hero?

Call. We only lose to the case 10 and he can be doing this any boat. You checked to get him to bet his bluffs, now you gotta close your eyes and put the chips in.

um, ok, I bit on the other posting of this hand as if it were 5/T.

It's still a call, no matter how much money is involved.

Are you gonna post it in high stakes next?

And, since I asked how is this even a thread in the other one, I'm gonna now ask "How is this even a thread, let alone 2 threads?"

We cannot fold in this spot versus this villain.

Our play goes as planned and Villain barrels off.

What is the question?

bluffing? I dream of having AA on 3-of-a-kind boards because they think their pocket pair is the nuts. I have no idea why you would assume villain is bluffing. You checked 3 times, he's value betting and you should never fold.

But since you asked, the odds of him bluffing are probably higher than the odds of him betting the flop with flopped quads.

When was the last time you saw someone fastplay quads on 3 streets in LLSNL? Thats right..never. Take the shovel outta that backpack you wear to the casino and use it to put your chips in the middle.

Grunch title: if its me then about once per session.

Grunch thread: pretty easy call off. If he flopped quads good for him.
