Villain (BB): 30-ish white guy, TAG who has played with hero before ($350)
Hero (SB): mid 20s Asian, TAG winning image ($850)

Button limps. Hero looks down at 99 and makes it $12. Villain bumps it to $35. He knows I'm raising wide here to isolate the button and I just have to get through him. Definitely young and aggressive enough to be 3 betting light. I wouldn't fold this to a 3 bet at 25NL on Pokerstars and I'm certainly not folding 99 to a 3 bet from him. Hero calls button folds.

Flop: A93 ($68)

Hero checks. Villain snap checks back.

Turn: 8 ($68)

Hero bets $50. Villain quickly calls.

River: A ($168)

I'm either betting small or shoving. If he slowplayed an ace or is 3 betting light with something like A4s he's got trips now. Doubt he can get away. He's probably smart enough to know that I can't have many flushes with the A on the board. If he has AA, nice hand. I think I prefer a shove but what do you guys think?

You are too deep relative to pot for a shove to be practical. You want villain to call with ax, and against a shove that is not likely. I would just make a normal value bet, anywhere from 75-125 depending on your feel.

Not sure why he wouldn't cbet the flop with an A or a flush draw unless he decided to get tricky. You are likely looking at pocket 10s-Ks or air. I'd bet about 75. I don't think he would bluff his air if you checked.

Pre flop is marginal. You're out of position and you're either way behind or in a coin flip. Hard to realize the coin flip equity OOP. You're just about deep enough to set mine. So calling is OK, but it's pretty close. Whatever your reasons for calling, I don't know that what you would do in 25NL on Pokerstars is relevant. I'd assume there's a lot more 3-betting light in that game, especially BvB.

You flopped gin, and now to justify your call pre you basically have to stack him. I assume that V has a good ace and try to maximize value. If V has a good ace you can probably get all his money, and if he has a pocket pair between 9 and A he's probably checking behind here to pot control. So I lead into him on the flop. He's calling with any ace he 3-bets, and may start bluff catching with worse made hands. Only downside is you don't get a c-bet out of hands he whiffed with, but not many of those in a 3-bet range (maybe KQ).

You guys have 315 back. $50 on the flop makes pot $168 heading to the turn. $90 on the turn makes pot $348 heading to the river with only $175 back, so an easy river shove.

Makes sense. I called preflop cause he could have A4s or 87s. He's an internet kid just like me. I think flipping or way behind would only apply if he's old school.

I don't think he has a strong Ace or a flush - he would cbet the flop with those.

Therefore I'm going with around half to 2/3rds pot on river. I don't expect a ton of calls though.
