In which we unhijack a Thread, Take Captain R's money, and show off micros tradition - HU4Rollz
Sorry to Kit for taking over your other thread...
Here you go, I have officially challenged Captain R to a HU4Rollz match. Since many live players and SSL players may not know the tradition, I'll lay out the basics of it for you. As part of the tradition, you need a thread for trash talking, side betting, and general mayhem. This is it.
You can check out the last one on micros here, in which Dragon took Dhani's pride, $1.47 American, and won a side bet forcing Dhani to refrain from the LC thread for a month. All pretty fun, imo.
The gist of this is that Captain R called me a fish in Kit's thread, and my only recourse as a living breathing poker player is to stand up for my honor. Since it is hard to throw gauntlets on the interwebz, we have a noble tradition to handle disputes, HUHU pokerz with pride on the line. We can't settle this with swords (where the good Captain would have no hope), so we have to settle this in a high variance poker situation where even a live fish (him) has about a pretty decent chance to luckbox to glory against an experienced player.
The match is on a 2/4 HUHU play money table. All gambling is via side bet; who wants to share glory with Poker Stars via rake? Just like HULA, the contestants start with 200 each. After each hour, we rebuy with smaller stacks (as laid out in HULA) until luck forces a winner. Given that my opponent is a live player, I'm guessing that his no-doubt loose/passive play will allow this thing to end sooner than that.
There you go. Challenge issued. I won't be available to play until mid-next week. That should provide enough time for prop betting. If any of you live guys would like to back your tough 40/80 playing buddy against a meh small-stakes online player, post here.
The dollar amount is kind of muddy, some say $1.43 and some say $1.47. Since you're a baller high stakes player, I'm willing to go the whole $1.47.

Almost forgot:

But against leo doc, I felt I had more postflop fold equity and he would play more fit or fold, so gaining the initiative was more valuable.
Nothing personal leo doc, I was just hoping you played better than DougL.

I'm sure the Cap'n won't take any offense at your comment. However, I don't think Doug is a sure fire winner here, either.
What I really need to know is how do we make those side/prop bets during a given hand?

I'd have taken the Cap'n; but, I'm still brooding over the other thread.

I wouldn't exactly call it a freeroll after having been btch-slapped by the Cap'n at the Mirage, then having to suffer the humiliation of him calling me weak-tight right here among my peers.
I'll take him for 20.
FT dollars OK?

Typically, we set up an AIM chatroom during the match. It provides additional opportunity for heckling/trash talk while not educating the poker community at large.
As for your hand with Captain R, I'm not sure I remember the exact details. I think he came up with a plan to run you over and enacted it. If barreling you with ATC in one hand was profitable, I'm not sure what the shame in it was.
At the Mirage 20 game I was sitting there thinking, "The 4 of us left a 10/20 game full of fish to play with 3 tougher 20/40 regs for what?" I kind of felt like we were all big favorites to make good money in the 10 game. I still feel like all of us played better than the 20 guys, but they weren't handing out fun tickets.
So, having played in the Captain's world, I'd like to welcome him to mine.
