playing small stakes for a while hurt your game?

I usually make most of my money on limit (LHE and FLO8 and stud when bovada had them) games.
then i end up degen'ng it up at PLO or some crazy-way-out-of-my-br SNG...i know its a losing move but plo is too fun lol
then i go back to limit.
rinse & repeat.
am i just making it harder for myself (in the long run and/or if i ever want to move up in stakes) by doing this?

well if you move up, then your PLO/SnG degen will move up too right? Pain threshold? Not sure I actually understand what you are trying to ask.

it sounds like playing games you are not good at is hurting your bankroll. it's hard to move up (even in games you are good at) without a bankroll
