If he's not 80 he's close to it. He actually sort of looks like he's been dug up out of the ground and dusted off now that you mention it. He'll cold call 2 w/ KK, won't get feisty w/o the nuts, doesn't know the spots he's in and grumbles.

Just like the old guys that wear shorts around their waist and sandals w/ white socks, I hope to never become like that.

I get the math here, but if SB and BB will really pay us off when we hit and if the old man is bad enough to not charge you when you're drawing I can see why you called. You're investing 2sb and when you miss the flop you're done - but when you hit you have a chance to build a nice pot and get paid off.

That's where the math doesn't always add up. Yes you're investing 25% of the money preflop and only winning 16% of the time, but implied odds have to factor in. I get that the fact that you might call down with 1 (losing) pair makes this a bad reverse implied odds spot, but you know that 1 pair is no good and you're playing for the straight/flush and will fold 1 pair (I hope).

That said, if his range is really that small I'd fold anyway. I think you need at least 1 caller in between and preferably 2 to make it worth it. It's too thin otherwise as you need to build a decent pot to overcome your preflop 'mistake' and even spewy and tilting players notice when nitty old men raise pre and they may not get too crazy.

I'm sure you can find a better spot to take money from SB and BB.
