I agree that raising pre is better, and yes, I know why. I never gave any indication that the villain was an aggressive player. He was straight-forward. I peeled the flop because I felt that was the right play given the information I had. Yes, it is hard to be correct enough given the pot odds to justify laying the hand down - but I had enough of a read on the villain that I am 90%+ sure I made the right laydown when he led out. There's no point in arguing that point further.
It's unnecessary to make semi-condescending remarks about my "approach" to short-handed poker. Thank you for your input, nevertheless.
