Uh, FT and PS are out of the US market and have settled their civil cases (using Stars money). They haven't admitted wrongdoing, though $700MM+ might be a sign of something. Some or all of their officers are going to jail on criminal counts. While the illegality of poker sites may not have been demonstrated, as a business owner this fine distinction might not matter.

They could be shut down at any time by US government actions.

So as a poker player, you are constantly training yourself to not really care exactly what happens to you. Good things happen, **** happens, it really does not matter. You just do your thing and... things happen. This works great for poker, not so great for real life.

I think i get what you are getting at Captain, but I also think that a non-results-oriented approach to many real life events can be expert, too. I mean, there are still a ton of things IRL that are beyond our control and it is very important to maintain optimal play when running bad. Monkey tilt is still a huge problem for most fish in the real world, too. Lots of people are lucky and just run like god in life and oftentimes not due to any genius or hard work of their own; these people often become douchebags or just take for granted their liferungood. If you understand the variance, you will better appreciate those times when you play good + run good IRL.

That guy just seems like a good guy. Of all the people who owed FT money, he was in the small minority who always said he intended to pay. His poker advice seemed good, as well. No idea why people latched on to him as a jerk. Maybe the reason people fixated on him was the belief he had the money to pay, unlike most live TV pros.

It' probably has something, at least for me, to do with the fact that I see him at commerce all the time and he once sat in the bike 40 game.

Because when the torches and pitchforks come out rationality goes out the window. Ever tried explaining to Poker Legislation that Full Tilt's funds were segregated? (They were, just that "segregated" has a different definition than commonly believed.)
People don't want to hear the truth. They want to hear that they are getting their money back. Then, after they get their money back, they don't care about the truth.

Anybody ever play with someone that you just know has a crazy physical read on you and just always knows what you have? Had that happen to me today and it was a very uncomfortable vulnerable feeling I've never felt at the tables before. Guess I should work on discovering my own tells some how.

in all seriousness I have a good friend now who is super into body language and physical tells and stuff and he has unearthed some creepy ****. try developing a specific set routine for your actions and going as slowly as possible (juice does this...it also has the pleasant side effect of tilting the **** out of your table)

The best limit player I've ever played with does this. Confirm major tilt factor on rest of table.
