Re: Fold Too Tight?

My 8/16 very often plays this way. You make your money by hitting big hands and draws and getting paid off. I really try to avoid WAWB situations in these games as they create misery. if I'm raising and throwing in my money when I could be a dog like here it creates great variance. Remember if either of your opponents have AsQs you're behind here.

If this helps any, basically in these wild games where the pots are 4-5 ways for lots of bets pre and I have a medium pp up to 88-QQ unless I hit a set or the board is all unders I'm pretty much not expecting to get to showdown.

So I think I check call one and check fold two. If you were good just be sure you'll get your money back and order an ice cream or a massage (or both!) ... You will in the long run make a lot of money off of these guys.

Re: Fold Too Tight?

With the LAGish button 3 betting preflop, I don't see any reason to bet this flop.

As played, I think you need to fold.

Re: Fold Too Tight?

Check and fold on the flop if it is more than one bet to you.

This is an excellent piece of advice and confirms a lot of what I've been rethinking about my game. I may run into a few spots where I fold the best hand but getting paid off big when I hit the monster (and enjoying the ice cream) will more than make up for it. I need to get better at adjusting my play to the action at the table. Thanks again!
