Probably 95% of my lifetime poker experience has been online. Considering where I've been, where I am, and where I'm going, I don't think there's much of an edge to be found vs me if we're strictly speaking of psychology. I'm a ****ing mental fortress. My only weaknesses are hungry and sleepy.

So please tell me how one could use psychology vs opponents without having some sense of where the margins are.

Online players tend to telegraph their actions IRL while transitioning. They are not the most psychologically exploitable characters in my experience. I wouldn't even say if they tilt more or less than live players. They may dislike live poker, and it's slow pace.

Ok but please explain how, preferably with realistic examples.

Dammit.
I don't know about psychology and online poker. See previous post.

Ok then let's talk about live poker. This is a live poker forum after all. Also, I'm folding some of the hands that I put in the original post in an online setting for the very reason that I'm gonna get isolated much more often than in a live setting.

Oh okay. Zachary Elwood's books on tells is good. Like I was saying your most likely tell is that you telegraph your action. When I started playing live from online it took about a week at least to break the habbit.

You are also possibly a neat stacker, meaning the chips are neat, taken to the extreme, neat stackers line up the stripes in the chips in their spare time. They are conservative players.

Also, when you have a strong hand, I'd say it's probable that you put them in fast, like jamming a raise button rather than take 1-2 seconds on action.

Having a preflop strategy helps on the psychological front though.

Most definitely. When I see someone take a long time on a preflop decision I immediately peg them as inexperienced. Us button mashers don't think much before 3 betting preflop.
