Re: back to basics: 99 utg cbet this flop

3! the flop and barrel all streets....

I'm assuming the cbet on the flop is the source of embarrassment here?

I can see why you'd be tempted to CB this, especially since two of your callers were in the blinds and might be calling ATC.

No beratements here--I can see myself instabetting and then being like ,"Oh, wait. I'm totally behind or facing about 25 outs. Whoops."

Its ok. You're still good at poker.

Thanks man

I had to change it. There were two ccers plus the bb. Does that change your response? If its 3w or more I insta bet but if its like 5w or more I wouldn't cbets this flop oop. 4w is kinda duh for me which iS why i ask thanks so much again.

Any reads on BB or the other player? A general plan here to bet the flop and turn seems alright vs the right line up.

They're all sshe loose passive calling stations. They call and raise when they hit a hand usually 2p or better. The fellow is the quintessential version of this ccing three ... two ... anything ... until he hits his hand and raises.

Re: back to basics: 99 utg cbet this flop

Is there any chance at all the raiser is raising a flush or straight draw?

I think betting this flop is iffy, I probably do it too but I can find a c/f or c/c.

Still I'm inclined to fold after the raise, though you might call one and c/f the turn just to dissuade raise bluffs in the future. I don't even like hitting a 9 since one of your outs makes the flush.

Yeah I agree with this. 3-way maybe I c-bet but with the two-toned and connected nature of the board you need to get incredibly lucky to either take it down or have the best hand by showdown.

Yeah, its time to balance your C-Bet range more towards the strong side by checking this flop against 2 CC's and a BB.

Now when you CB A/K UI you'll get a fold everytime.......

Re: back to basics: 99 utg cbet this flop

nh i play it exactly the same. btw i think the fact that we can easily fold to a raise swings this towards a bet, rather than towards any check/decide line.

The first ccer would've bet as a draw. He was a laggy Asian. This Guy who raised was a fat white guy in his 30s (like hero) and extremely passive (unlike hero LOL) so no he's got a strong TP or 2p+
..

This conflicts with your earlier comment

Anyway, I would rather bet vs all loose-passive calling stations vs even one aggressive player.

Re: back to basics: 99 utg cbet this flop

I am not opposed to a c/f line at all. Not much you have on this nasty board.

This looks something like a 'desperation bet' which is covered in HPfAP. Essentially that is a hand where you *might* have the best hand and everyone *might* just fold and your hand is maybe worth one bet. So you bet that one bet on the flop and say a silent prayer of fold inducement to your poker gods (Crom in my case). This board is a little wet for this (imo) but...

Re: back to basics: 99 utg cbet this flop

Personally I do not Cbet out of position against three opponents with a flush draw, a straight draw and two over on the board.
In my opinion there are no positive expectations on doing this.

But that is just me. Maybe I am too tight.
