First hand at the table...take it easy on me.

Poker Stars $5/$10 Limit Hold'em - 9 players
The Official 2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked.com

Hero posts a big blind (1 SB)

Pre Flop: (2.4 SB) Hero is CO with 5 5
UTG calls, 4 folds, Hero checks, BTN raises, SB calls, BB calls, UTG calls, Hero calls

Flop: (10 SB) 7 5 3 (5 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets, BTN raises, SB folds, BB 3-bets, UTG folds, Hero calls, BTN calls

Should I cap this?

Turn: (9.5 BB) J (3 players)
BB bets, Hero calls, BTN calls

I think I need to raise here? If I raise and he 3-bets, I should plan on just calling down unless I fill up - correct?

River: (12.5 BB) A (3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets

As played, this river is an obvious bet, correct?

Thanks for any insight!

I'd have put in one more bet on the first 3 streets.

PF: With just the one limper, I am raising. I think we often have the best hand, we get to buy the button and pick up dead money when the blinds fold.

Flop: I dont cap. I want to see what the button does and what the turn brings.

A check/3 bet would suggest a made hand from most big blinds.

Turn: I raise now, this card was one of the safest we could hit, and the Button has an overpair he is not releasing, or a big heart that he wants to see what happens with.

River: As played, easy bet.

Had you bet/called the turn, calling this river is the plan for me, although I wouldnt be expecting to drag the pot often.

Preflop:
You should raise your post in CO here. Isolate the limper (limping in EP is usually a sign of a weak-ish player), buy the button, hopefully loose the blinds and play it HU with position.

Flop:
I cap. You fill up by the river more than your often enough cap this. BB's check-3b is pretty strong move yes. However, I'd rather put money in now when my equity is higher vs straights and flushes than on 'safe' turn. If BTN doesn't cap, our relative position doesn't work well for extracting more value on turn (although if BTN has a FD he isn't going away even if we raise BB's turn lead). The main reason to cap here is that our current equity is better vs stronger made hands (quite possible given the action) than on turn.

Turn:
This is nasty spot as you flop play underrepped your hand. You are more likely to get calls from worse hands that way but will get pwned vs flushes and aggro straights. With some overlay from BTN I think raising is still best but I hate life if it gets 3-bet/capped and call down.

River:
Easy bet on the river.

PF. You need to raise. If you're not comfortable raising 55 in to one limper, you should consider only coming in on the BB.

Flop. I'm fine with only calling the 3B. You don't have enough equity to cap for value in to a flush, the singleton hearts have made their plays, and you're going to have to bet the turn if checked to. I'm interested in whether or not the BTN caps, but since he may be "whatever" capping, this info isn't critical. Your b/c is fine.

Turn. This is a nice card. Given that the button didn't cap, I think you raise it. This is close; Mitke pointed out, you're not loving getting capped here. This is the best street to get value vs. the FD hands; they're calling any amount and you have the best odds of staying the best. Calling is OK, too.

River. Yes, you bet because they didn't hit.

Other than PF, I don't hate this hand.

Easy raise pf. You already have money in the pot and you would like to play this HU with the limper because of all the dead money.

I am not convinced we are behind on the flop but waiting for the turn card may be reasonable.

I am definitely popping the turn. You can't be worried about getting 3bet when you have a set and 2 opponents. This is an online 5/10 game, where draws are played aggressively, and you are ahead here too often to be missing so much value, imo.

Betting the turn seems to be the easiest decision.

Isoraise preflop.

Cap the flop.

Raise the turn.

Good river bet, yes.
