8/16: Country Roads
Villain raises UTG. He has about 2-3 stacks of chips and is Asian. Someone coldcalls and I 3bet black QQ. Someone coldcalls and both blinds call. Villain caps and we all call. 6 ways for 24 sb.
Flop 965dd. Villain bets, coldcaller calls, I raise, one blind calls, Villain 3bets. Coldcaller folds, I call, blind calls. 3 ways 17 BB.
Turn 3c. Blind checks, villain checks, I bet, blind calls, Villain raises and has 9 chips left, I 3bet. Blind calls 2 cold, Villain throws in 1 chip, we both call.
River As, Blind checks I bet.

I would of raised the flop again that way you can attempt to either adequately define the blinds range or create dead money by facing him with 2 cold.
is he the small blind or the large blind?

Re: 8/16: Country Roads
I think I'd cap the flop to give that one blind maximum opportunity to either fold or make a bad call.
River's probably OK, though I'd be fine with checking it back. I feel like we've given a crap-load of action to an overpair, such that I could see a passive villain play a better hand the way the blind has. Depends how station-y you think he is, I guess, and would he peel flop with an ace and bdsd.

Enjoy your side pot. I don't see what you could have done differently in the hand given stack of villain...

Re: 8/16: Country Roads
I don't see how betting into a dry side pot does you any good.
If he had a full stack of chips would you fold ott?
His line seems a little wack job to me but he's short and it's possible he's a little crazy because of it. I guess I wouldn't have gotten him to go all in with the other players there ... I dunno, you could still be best so you could be maximizing value with the fish coming along. but he could have us all crushed too. I'm thinking that I would just call down from the turn cr. fwiw I wouldn't have cAppped otf.

I cap the flop, especially against a shorty. It makes the turn easier because your range is uncapped.

Re: 8/16: Country Roads
I cap the flop as well given UTG's stack size. Its closer I think if he has more behind, might still be a cap.
I assume your plan was to call and raise a lot of turns to face blind with 2 cold? That plan seems ok.
As played, I think you have to 3-bet the turn hoping to get 1 bet from blind on the river. This river might be one of a few I check back though. Depends how stationy he is, as others have mentioned. If UTG had like 1/2 a bet more, I would just call down rather than 3! the turn.

Re: 8/16: Country Roads
I like it all around. The turn raise idea is a good one. Only issue I might have is that you could be valuetowning yourself on the river. But once the blind checks I think you have to bet. Any relevant reads on the blind in this hand?
