6/12 Oaks

3 spots against Asian LAG to my right. Plays pretty similarly to me but more tricky. (laggy pre, mostly honest post)

Some relevant hands:
Have seen villain raise/cap HJ against 1-2 limpers with Qs9s, raise pre with small SCs and try to steal pots in position on AAx board. Raised KQ from blinds against 2 opponents and checked flop and turn on Q hi board (presumably trying to c/raise). He flopped nut straight with 98 on 765 board against preflop raiser multiway and took a: donk flop, c/raise turn line. I remember this player as overvaluing his redraws on the turn.

Hand 1:
Villain raises in EMP, I 3bet AQ in CO, 2 other callers, Villain calls.

Flop: Q 7 4 Pot~12sb

Villain bets into me, I raise, 1 caller who is allin, Villain 3bets, I call.

Turn: 2 Pot~19-20sb

Villain bets, I raise, villain 3bets.

Hand 2:
Bunch of limpers, Villain raises sb, I call KJ.

Flop: KQ9 Pot~10-12sb
Villain bets, I raise, rest fold, villain 3bets, I call.

Turn: 4 Pot~16-18sb
Villain checks, I bet, villain raises.

Hand 3:

2 limps, villain completes sb, I raise AKo, limpers call, villain 3bets, I cap, rest call.

Flop: A 6 2 Pot~15sb

Villain checks, I bet, 2 calls, Villain c/raises, I 3bet, I think 1 player after me manages a call and is allin, Villain calls.

Turn: 4 Pot~22sb

Villain checks, I bet, villain c/raises.

Q1: Can we find a 4bet in hand 1, 3bet in hand 3?
Q2: Find a call down in hand 2? (and does it matter or not whether I block his KsXs type hands?)

1) I wouldn't raise the turn.

2) I'd call down.

3) I'd call down.

@Bob: Why wouldn't you raise the turn? (Or you mean you wouldn't 4bet?)

Because I think calling down is more profitable. Once he 3 bets the flop I think it's a 4 bet or call down spot.

All in player changes things a lot. Most people play a lot more honestly when someone is all in. In hand 1, that factor makes the first turn raise already iffy. (without the all in player, I like the first turn raise a lot and think many people would miss that thin value)

Hand 1. It's not a 4bet or call down spot on the flop. We're in position and can manipulate how many bets go in on the turn and river. Calling the flop 3bet and raising safe turn cards is better and gives us more options. However, I agree with phunkphish that because of the all in player it's more likely villain has a strong hand and I would play more cautiously.

Hand 2. Call down.

Hand 3. Call down.

Does anyone get suspicious of villain's b/3b/check-turn line in hand 2 and consider checking the turn?

Yes, but you're the only one who's going to be able to answer what to do since you have the Ks

1) I would just call the turn. You have a strong hand and position. Just call him down. After he 3bets the turn I'm guessing you are looking at a set of 7s or maybe Qs.

2) The 3bet flop, check turn raise turn screams monster. Call down.

3) I'd call down.

This LAGs turns check raises scream monsters. Either he is running really hot or he is trying to bluff with strong turn lines. You said he plays mostly honest post flop, so I think he running hot. Just call him down.

I think they're all calldowns from the point of decision. Your read is that Villain plays it mostly honest postflop, and he must give you some kind of credit for TP so we slow down. We don't fold because pot is huge and you said "mostly" honest.
