I wonder what jesse would do with Brady's missing jersey if he ever came into possession of it. Maybe give it to jdr's future son?

Current odds:

Burn it: -1000
Give it to my unborn son: +5000
Other: +1400

I'll take that bet on Jesse burning.

I'm having a moment of realization: is the Jesse that posts on this forum Jesse Caps?
02-06-2017 , 06:32 PM
no
02-06-2017 , 06:43 PM
Ah... just happened to watch a Live @ The Bike clip and saw Jesse Caps on it and I remember this Jesse saying something about being on the show and it all made sense... except that I wouldn't have pegged Caps as a LHE boss.

Be alive in 10 years and still playing LHE. A really reasonable percentage of LHE players won't pass this test. Then, you're a boss.
02-06-2017 , 11:02 PM
I'm on my second decade of that test!
02-06-2017 , 11:57 PM
10 years is going to be tough for me to pull off.
02-07-2017 , 12:26 AM
I know plenty of ppl that have been playing LHE for 10+ years... basically none of them bosses... I think your qualifier needs more qualifiers.
02-07-2017 , 02:52 PM
Starting now. Outlive or outlast. See where you're at. Maybe you will be one of those 4 or 5 angry guys at the Aria, playing the 2/4 limit game over in the corner -- the last LHE game in the whole country. Throw the dealer a $1 toke, and then angrily demand he chop it up. Get back a half, and yell "NO! I said chop it up!" Stop the game until you get another quarter.

Maybe HB will still be there, keeping an eye on the WoF machine just across the rail. He'll tip whole dollars and be considered a maniac.

What will the game be then? 6 card PLO/8 with a pass of two cards after flop, turn, and river is dealt? PLOAconda?

There's lots of people like this. Lots of people are life bosses and could lose for 10 years straight and it wouldn't matter at all. That's a much better spot than being able to crush poker. Then you also have the subset of people who basically jsut blow every dollar they earn gambling which isn't as impressive

I like to joke see who can survive having an Asian wife/gf for 5+ years.... if they can they probably play well
02-07-2017 , 10:30 PM
First: I will be taking mom to the 'Church of the Wheel of Fortune Slot Machine' on Thurs ~1pm. When I pray in front of the WoF Slot Machine I REALLY mean it and I'm willing to add prayers for those in need so you have until then to let me know.

Second: I'm so close to being done w/ poker that I don't even care if LHE dies off. I can be an OMC w/ the best of them, sitting on a $200 stack all day long tossing in my $3/orbit in blinds while nut peddling and listening to Bomba Estereo:

Third: It helps if the Asian wife can hold her own in the game. A LOT!

Fourth: I really, really want to start a thread in LCP titled 'Bump this thread every time there's an ******* in the game' but I get along w/ Rapini who would have a stroke.

I've essentially been playing LHE since 2004; lots of ups and downs between 2004 and 2010 when I quit drinking and before I really "got it." I've been basically playing full-time LHE hours since mid 2011 and I haven't had any losing years. Started with like no bankroll or disposable income and worked my way up from propping 4/8 games, to selling action so I could play 8/16 to being a 20/40 regular with a WSOP FT under my belt.

Also been dating/married to a Cambodian woman for 5 years in May!

Edit: Asian wife plays about 60-80 hours a month and booked a solid profit for 2016!

I wish that I could morph into an Asian woman when playing. Seriously.

More Bomba Estereo (check the critics reviews!):

There ain't no disguise capable of covering up OMC-level nittery.

btw, I'm hooked on playing Cepheus but I stopped keeping track of session results. I win, I lose but it's close. What I'm happiest about is the frequency of the sessions that essentially play to even. Having played a fair amount of HU 20+ years ago in the crumbier of the NYC clubs I find this an interesting experience.

Can't wait for HB to be the final boss of HU by 2019.

Not sure if the following qualifies as a rant or a "heads-up" on the current state of US healthcare, but here's a true story.

A week ago, I was doing some **** that I should have hired somebody with a strong back and a weak mind to do for me. Specifically, the wife wanted some sturdy shelves built in the garage to organize a bunch of stuff that was on the garage floor. This entailed buying some foundation blocks and 2 x 12 x 10(ft) boards for shelving.

"No problem," I said. "I'll go to Home Depot and be back with the stuff in just a bit."

Went to HD and loaded the lumber. Drove to the foundation block section and loaded the first one without a hitch.(They weigh maybe 60 lbs.) As I was toting the second one, I was seized with what might have been the most incapacitating pain that I've ever had in my lower thoracic spine. Dropped the block which shattered and couldn't force myself to stand erect without a couple of HD attendants help. After a bit, I was able to get into the truck and drive home.

A few hours later, I went to the ER and got a CT scan which was OK. Also got some steroids and pain meds which allowed me to walk and go take a piss. The real trouble came later that night and the next morning. After lying down, it became near-impossible to get out of bed. I mean break-a-sweat, take-your-breath-away pain that would only subside after I was able to stand up. I tried lying down the next day with, unfortunately, the same result. I've been relegated to sleeping while sitting on the couch for the past five nights. (Sex life has taken a major hit.)

Neurosurgeon buddy of mine rightly determines I need a MRI to further delineate other possible pathology. Insurance company (Cigna) needs a pre-certification before OKing the MRI. Two days ago, all of the attendant med recs and CT report were sent to them. No word back until this morning at which time they said they need the (same) medical info sent to them again. Wtf?!

At this point, I'm getting tired of sleeping on the couch- not to mention the brewing frustration occasioned by not getting supine with the wife- so I called the CFO at the hospital and asked what the MRI would cost if I just paid cash. No insurance billing, no fuss, no hassle, just write a check.

It's $464 and that includes the radiologist reading fee.

To put that into perspective, had the insurance pre-certed the procedure, I would incur a $600 co-pay and the applicable outpatient deductible.

The power and clout of the fun ticket cannot be underestimated.

Why does this story not shock me in the slightest?

Sorry about the back, though.

I hate insurance (medical) mainly because they can screw you over and you have no way of knowing.

I'm pretty shocked to hear this, as I was always under the impression that MRI's were significantly more expensive than this (when billed, of course).

Hey leo doc, hope the back gets better quickly.

IS this is the power of the fun ticket or the "friends and family" discount?
