Of course there is some advantage to posting your big blind in position. I can't prove it, but IMO it is not enough of an advantage to make up for being dealt 3 fewer hands and having your small blind be dead money.

If you have any evidence to support that you think it more than makes up for those disadvantages, feel free to let us know. Or better yet, start sitting out your blinds and posting in position yourself. I certainly wouldn't object if someone did that in my game.
