Agreed. A lot of people don't think of ranges and don't think about what peeled against their UTG open and cbet on this board.

Seems like we're talking about which AXo hands to defend the BB HU vs an EP raiser, but jon_locke is talking about completing K2o in the SB after limpers?

There was a new post about defending A-rag vs EP raise.

Yes, but I do both at a 100% frequency (excluding having a leg up button).

Are you defending any Axo hu? Multiway? Or do you need a little bit of kicker?

Two loose passives limp in HJ and CO, I have K2s on the button.
Yesterday I thought of this thread, as I completed K3o in the SB after 4 limpers in my loose passive 4/8 game. The board ran out KT7 3 K. LOL!

What's the difference between A6 and A2?

It matters a little when they open 22-55 in EP, which lots of "pros" do

A6 can't make a straight. The 2 in A2 can get counterfeited.

A6 wins extra bets on 2345 boards vs. AK.

My point is that any rag ace is similar when worried about domination. Turns out the have pairs/K hi/Q hi/J hi/etc a lot in early position.

Pros are opening 22-55 in EP. Is this a once in a while thing or as a default?

I raise 77+ in ep.

Not pros, "pros", heater riding fish who quit their jobs cause poker too easy.

Just stick with 77 and you'll be fine.

Limped pots in the small blind? You can rip 95o out of my cold dead hands. I'm not so sure about the Cali drop though, probably makes many of the hands that I'd call unprofitable.

Guy limps UTG 9 handed, Ultra loose passive fish raises +2. His range is strong here, probably like 99+/AK (maybe AQ and 88, but I don't think so. Definitely not like AJ/77 IMO). Thinking player who studies the game cold calls with a very defined range of hands (your suited aces / suited connectors / low to mid PP type hands that want MW action and thinks it can get it at this table). We have 88 in the CO with loose players in the blinds.

We do what?

Your job is probably to get set over set with the thinking player and take advantage of the fact that he probably just 3 bets most of the PP hands better than yours. Limp, tight raise, defined cc, and you don't have 3 betting equity... you're likely getting both blinds? Good game. ~6:1 expected immediate odds makes set mining fine.

Flop 842 and get to the turn 5 ways for 4 bets. Profit.

Not to mention sometimes we have the best hand pre and can play post pretty easily.
