leo doc and I look like we've been to the gym, but Jesse could certainly mix in a salad at some point. Free food and sedentary lifestyle is definitely getting to him.

Jesse, who is the luckiest player you know. Anyone who thinks 12 outs on the turn is about 60/40 in his favor and flopping a set with a PP is about 3:1?

I've played with lots of bad players who were seemingly on a lifetime heater. Max at Garden City comes to mind immediately; I once saw him color change 7 racks off the table to big chips and declare he was leaving, then stay because he was charlie sheening it for the next 2 hours, only to eventually take literally over $7K off a 20/40 game. He just simply never, ever loses. Like OK once in a while we'd ding him for like $500 or something. But it seemed like 3 times out of 4 he was going home with a 4+ rack win.

Regarding good players? I think we have a winner.

And because it is mildly relevant, I'll relink my blog post.

Steel curtain or terrible towel?

How much would someone have to pay you for you to switch allegiance (for life) to the Eagles?

What Steelers paraphernalia do you own?

Towel

I don't think I'm really capable of it, but I'd be willing to try for upper 5 figures. like 10K is definitely not enough, but 100K would be I think. But you're kind of off; I don't hate the eagles nearly as much as I hate, say, the patriots or raiders.

Probably a half dozen teeshirts, a few sweatshirts and long sleeve tees, a hat, five towels, two jerseys, personalized license plate holder, calendar, dog collar....That's about it I think.

Congrats on a successful well jesse...

Anyway, because of the great success of you guys picking me an NFL team (Dallas, they failed hard this season and all you guys got to get in a few LOL Romo's and LOL Kitna's, though we got a good win vs the Colts in among other fail) I wanted you to have the personal honour of picking me another team in an American League.

So far we have covered...

NFL: Dallas
NBA: San Antonio (I know, lol bandwagon, but I have been playing as them since the Robinson era for the SNES 1992 Bulls vs Pistons where only the 16 teams that made the playoffs that season were eligible, plus the West and East ldo
NHL: Pittsburgh, mainly because a friend of mine has the handle Crosby87 on a different website, I googled it in his rookie season, found out who he was and jumped on the bandwagon somewhat prematurely. lol concussion though
MLB: Have not really cared that much about it in previous years, was going for the Giants to beat the Rangers in the final but again, wasn't that concerned. However, I watched the Reds beat the Brewers in pretty stunning fashion on the first game of the season and like their history, so might have to jump on that bandwagon (If 5-0 counts as a bandwagon).

That doesnt leave much, college I dont really understand/care and that leaves the MLS

So you get to pick me an MLS team. I dont care how or why, whether because they have the coolest nickname, nice colours, random.org, however.

The candidates...

Chicago Fire
Columbus Crew
D.C United
Houston Dynamo
New England Revolution
NY Red Bulls
Philadelphia Union
Sporting Kansas City
Toronto F.C
------------------------
Chivas USA
Colorado Rapids
FC Dallas
LA Galaxy
Portland Timbers
Real Salt Lake
San Jose Earthquakes
Seattle Sounders
Vancouver Whitecaps FC

Now, you cant pick either LA Galaxy or NY Red Bulls, because two of my friends support those teams. So go ahead, my sporting life is in your hands...

*BTW, lol MLS will not count as an answer...

1. LOL MLS

2. Seriously. Just root for the Pittsburgh Power

3. OK fine, but only because you actually listed all the teams...here we go:

The candidates...

Chicago Fire

Make the first cut.

Columbus Crew

No good. In Ohio.

D.C United

I went to an actual game they played in RFK Stadium. Second worst sporting event experience of my life, as the final score was 1-0 and the away team scored the goal in stoppage time when we were walking around. Also the stadium seemed like it was going to collapse because all three thousand fans were in the same section. So no good.

Houston Dynamo

No good. In Texas.

New England Revolution

Rooting for a team in the same market as the Patriots would force me to hate you, so again, no good.

NY Red Bulls

You said no, and that's fine, cause no good, in New York City.

Philadelphia Union

Believe it or not I have never been to Philadelphia. They pass the first cut.

Sporting Kansas City

No good, name is too ******ed, even for lol MLS
.

Toronto F.C

You're an American, right?

------------------------
Chivas USA

No good. If I don't know what city you play in, I will not root for you. And since you're in lol MLS, you better make it pretty ****ing clear. I'm not gonna work for this

Colorado Rapids

Colorado is nice; I think Doug lives there.

FC Dallas

No good, in Texas.

LA Galaxy

You said no good, and once again, in the City of Las Angeles, so, no good.

Portland Timbers

The name alone gets them past the first cut.

Real Salt Lake

I wouldn't get involved with Morman's if I were you. I bet they don't even sell beer at the games.

San Jose Earthquakes

Sure.

Seattle Sounders

No good. Close to Canada. Also rainy, and will eventually move to Oklahoma City and become awesome, leaving you heart broken.

Vancouver Whitecaps FC

How many freaking Canadian teams do you need? Like were there no more American cities willing to even host these franchises? Just wow...

I'll pass final judgement in a little bit.

Chicago Fire....my heart's not in it, so they are out. Ditto for Colorado. I'm supposed to hate Philadelphia, and even though I really don't, I should try harder, so also no on them. That leaves the San Jose Earthquakes and the Portland Timbers, and I'm going to give the nod to the Earthquakes. They have a name that is the right amount of stupid, are from a city that I enjoyed, and...lol, MLS.

Godspeed.

LOL. I just bought my son a new basketball net that has the logo of every team in the NBA. He asked me what team I wanted to be, and I said "supersonics" and he looked for them on the backboard and said "who?". That's when I realized they are no longer a team.

Cool story somewhat related.

As an Aussie trying to pick up more American sports to follow, I began keenly looking at nfl.com among other sites to get info about the teams and the league. That had all the logo's at the top of the page, so I thought I would see if I could remember all the teams as I looked at the logo. I only missed 3, the first, a brown helmet (Cleveland Browns) and two others, which I had to google, which turned out to be

Spoiler:
The AFC and the NFC logo

They should cover all your front-running needs, being the defending champs. Plus I know a guy who works in the front office, so we could probably get free tickets. OTOH, being soccer, I'm not sure there are any other kind.

LOL.

Doug-

You need to use those mod powers and edit your post so as to appear magnanimous. Never pass on the opportunity to treat your pals to a game... and never tell 'em you got free tickets to it. To make them further appreciate your generosity, you can even offer to let them buy the beer.
