Bet/fold flop or stick it out? Bet/fold flop or stick it out?

8/16 9 handed. The SB posts a full kill.

The villian is the button. He is TAGish sort of. He does cold call on occassion. He does have a 3 bet range here but it's stronger than a typical TAG. I think he just calls hands like 66's and QJs for instance. He will play draws strongly. He will raise flop and check turn sometimes if HU to induce bluff/or because of Mubsy reasons.

Folded to me in CO and I raise 44's, The button pauses for about 7 seconds and then calls...This was definately suspicious. Not sure if it was a "I really want to play my 68s or maybe I'll get tricky and just call with my QQ's" type of pause. It could just be a marginal hand as well. The SB calls and the BB folds.

5cKc5h..Checked to me and I bet, The Button raises, SB folds and I call.

5cKc5h7s..Button bets...He could have up to 24 outs. Maybe I should just fold the flop. Do I fold now or just stick it out absent bad cards.

I have a TAG image.

How solid is this read? What kind of hands would he raise this flop with and check back the turn? I think you should put him on a range for betting the turn and check out your equity with stove and compare it to the effective odds. You're looking at paying 2 big bets to win >9? That's less than a 23% investment to showdown. If he ever bets the turn and gives up on the river with worse hands than 44, then this improves the argument for calling the turn.

Not a great read. I've seen him check turn in position and then snap call the river on about 3 occassions. He raised a HJ limper from the CO with JTo..bet the flop, checked turn, and called river on AA6T5. This was the only one I remember. He did induce a bluff from the HJ who had Q9.

I'll try some scenarios and report back.
