What hands can you open then fold when it's cold capped? What hands can you open then fold when it's cold capped?

Hey guys,

Not much of a limit HE player. I was wondering in what situations it's ok to open a hand then fold it to a cold cap. Like A7-A9o in the cutoff? 22? JTo? Or are you pretty much not folding any of the above.

Thanks

I'm most willing to muck big, offsuit hands that are easily dominated, paying attention to who's doing the raising/capping.

The A7-A9 goes (unless suited). I keep the JTo and 22 for straight / 2-pair / set value. The latter group can flop big hands and value own the big pocket pairs - the middle off-suit Aces can't flop anything playable and have big RIO problems

Pretty much the same for me. I don't muck anything suited, directly connected, or paired in this spot since I can hit the flop hard.
ATo,AJo can hit the muck against almost all live lineups and most online FR lineups.
A9o or worse pretty much always gets mucked here, same with KJo- and QTo-.

is the cap 4 bets or 5?

lets assume its 4 for the basis of this question. If its 5, and it is three back to you, then there are a lot more hands that you can fold, depending on the number of players.

I pretty much toss offsuit hands and aces that I expect to be dominated by the players involved.
