I wasn't giving hero any particular amount of equity in this hand, just commenting on your general statement about never liking the "save a bet" terminology. Sometimes you can save a whole bet.

I like how everyone is assuming villain will check back AK if you check, but raise AK if you donk.

I actually think that it accurately describes the play of several people.

But in general +1 it's a weird assumption to make. Most people will either check AK back or call a donk. Which side they pick is probably very weirdly game/villain specific.

I don't really donk here....maybe I should but I don't think it matters a ton. You're WAY behind a "tight" 3 bet range here, aren't you? I'd assume that range doesn't have a lot of hands without an ace in it and is also going to bet like 100%.

Oh and yeah, definitely fold the turn. You're drawing dead like 10x more than you're winning.

This obviously is correct but don't tell everyone.

She checked behind a set of 9s and then I tried to kill myself in the bathroom with a broken chip.

I wondered where that "ketchup" stain came from.

Notice our relative position. If we expect the villain to raise our flop donk, the passengers will face two bets to stay in the hand. If we check with intent to raise the villain's cbet, any passengers along for the ride will be paying one bet at a time (unless the villain 3!s our k/r).

If protecting our hand from various overcard pair draws matters, I think donking is better than check-raising.

Given the read, I think paying two bets rather than three on the flop is to be preferred. I am unhappy with just check-calling.
